i've loved this movie since forever, it's practically perfect...to me at least.

...if not for another shit performance by Corey Feldman. He so blatantly tries to make his voice sound deeper than it is in this. Every scene with him in it was a joke. It's too bad they didn't knock him off...

Besides that, I love the movie.

i thought it was appropriate for the movie ..

a whacko kid taking himself too seriously (only to be right in the end)
he was trying toi sound serious and mature (the character i mean)

i'll be willing to bet this is the way he was directed to be

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

Not bad. Not quite on par with the 3 prior entries, but close.

I have the next 4 days off from school...should be able to finish the series by then.

Tol'ja again. ;)

You'll think 5 is ok, and you'll love 6. 6 may be your favorite, actually. It reallys is that good.

Ya' know, I never thought of it that way, Urge. I need to watch this again with re-opened eyes.

Of course I love the movie itself every time, though.

Jeepers Creepers

I have always liked this one because it just feels a lot more original than most horror films I see. An original villain, unique storyline (albeit a little stupid at parts), and even some pretty fresh directing approaches and camera shots. The gore isn't too extreme or bloody, but it is fairly abundant. The ending is also pretty unexpected. I enjoy this film quite a bit. Highly entertaining, well acted and just plain cool.

Dracula 2000

Another perpetual favorite of mine... I love this modern day take on the Dracula legend and am not really sure why this film gets such a bad wrap. Yes, it is a hip young Hollywood cast, but the acting is fine and the gore is abundant. Wes Craven has put together one of my favorite vampire movies of all time here because this is how I have always envisioned Dracula should be portrayed... A ruthless, soulless cold-blood butcher. Not some lovey dovey pansy... He's based on Vlad the Impaler for crying out loud!!!! Anyways, this movie kicks ass. Good acting, good gore, GREAT new twist on the Dracula legend, good directing, excellent entertainment value. I don't see why more people don't love it.

Just watched House of 1000 Corpses.
Ain't great, but it's not terrible.

GorePhobia 10-25-2006 11:47 PM

The Lost boys was on tv and I was watching some of that.

I think I am going to watch The Machinist starring Christian Bale since he is a phenomenal actor.

Had me laughing from time to time.

Especially the Saw intro with Dr. Phil and the Tom-Cruice-makes-an-ass-out-of-himself-in-Oprah ending made me laugh out loud.

Might be the worst in the series, but I still enjoyed it.

Worst in the series? It might be one of the best in my opinion. I'd probably rank it right behind the first one. They finally ditched the Wayans brothers.

I laughed my ass off at the terrorist bit during the War of the Worlds. "Death to America! Oh... shit."

Geddy 10-26-2006 03:07 AM

The Last House On The Left.

I'm with BW22 on this one...I think it's the best aside from the first one, which I personally think was leagues ahead of them all.
The second and third were the ones not worth shit, IMO.

GorePhobia 10-26-2006 04:11 AM

see I don't agree at all.

I loved Scary Movie 2 with Hansen. "I'll give you my strong hand!" and the whole bit where he is fucking the turkey is priceless.

My rating for the Scary Movies go just like they were released....

1-4

The fourth installment sucked hard IMHO.

The Machinist is pretty fucked up. Really good movie, but the whole thing is kind of dirty and depressing.

I actually didn't watch it. I was going to go to sleep but then stayed up all night playing NHL 2007 on PS2 and chatting on here.

I took it home from work (local video store) but need to return it tomorrow. I might keep it out an extra day to watch it though.

Freak 10-26-2006 05:06 AM

Rest Stop wasn't to bad.Had a real High Tension feel to it.

_____V_____ 10-26-2006 05:21 AM

The Fugitive and U.S. Marshals back-to-back.

Thought I d check out some non-horror before horrorfest starts at home from tonite. Pretty good flicks, and Ford is outstanding in the first one. The second one was good, but not great. Snipes could have been better, but Jones covered em up nicely.

I d give the first one 08/10 and the second 06/10.

Awesome, awesome movie. Well worth the late fee:p

"Shallow Ground"

Well, except for the ending that really didnīt make much sense, this was in fact a surprisingly good horror movie.

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning

Easily the weakest so far, but wasnt too bad. Good little shake up in the formula.

The Grudge.

Contrary to people bashing it so often, I enjoyed the flick. Some nice "Boo!" scares in it, but overall a decent watch, IMO.

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Nope. Sorry Alky, you missed the mark on this one.

Didnt like it much. Usually I can apreciate intentional cheese, but this was just too much for me. I laughed once or twice, but I just didnt get into this like I did the first 5.

Here's hoping 7 and 8 are better. (Even though the plots both sound like garbage)

Despare 10-26-2006 07:43 PM

Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

I thought Sandler's was ok but this version is on another level. Gary Cooper plays Longfellow Deeds amazingly well and really makes him a dynamic character.

Dammit. Ah well, give it another go sometime.
