The Mothman 10-19-2006 01:55 PM

just started halloween 2. i hope it gets better because its had an awful start

AmericanManiac 10-19-2006 02:07 PM

Rest Stop, never really got a good look at the killer.

stygianwitch 10-19-2006 02:54 PM

Jason & The Argonauts
Shrek

had a real shitty day... needed something light and funny, these movies do the trick

The Mothman 10-19-2006 04:04 PM

Halloween II
5/10

lame. an american slasher film, and nothing more. Whilst John Carpenters Halloween was atmospheric, creepy and well directed, this one was just boring and corny. Oh and the remixed soundtrack sounded awful.

The Mothman 10-19-2006 06:02 PM

28 Days Later

9/10

Still remains an incredible, unique horror movie, even after its fourth viewing.

Beautifully directed, perfect soundtrack, atmospheric, dark disturbing and violent, this is one of the best horror films in a long time.

urgeok 10-19-2006 08:29 PM

Silver Streak ..

weird seeing this again .. 1st time viewing since seeing it in the theatres when it was released.

the only thing i could remember was the last 5 minutes - the rest was a complete blank as i watched it again..

crabapple 10-19-2006 08:35 PM

It is kinda hard to forget that bit at the end

_____V_____ 10-19-2006 08:41 PM

Blade Runner.

I keep forgetting what an absolute visual gem of a treat this is. One of the most beautiful, smooth and lovely movies I have ever seen and ever will see.

10/10 anytime...everytime...

PhilnEdee 10-19-2006 09:03 PM

Boo----it is total BOOL-shit!
Got Pumpkin Karver and Rest Stop on the way from Blockbuster online.

BLADE RUNNER-directors cut without the voice over or the theater version with Ford's narration? I prefer hearing what he thinks, especially at the end.

LEON-"My mother? Let me tell you 'bout my mother."

Geddy 10-20-2006 01:30 AM

i worded that badly - what i meant was that when i see a movie i 've seen before - it usually comes back as I'm watching it ..

other than the last few minutes of Silver Streak - i couldnt have told you anythingthat was happening - it was like i never saw the movie before...

i've never experienced that before ... even movies way older..

no doubt just another sign of rapidly approaching senility.

Geddy 10-20-2006 12:46 PM

First Blood.

Roderick Usher 10-20-2006 01:26 PM

The Philadelphia Story was on tv last night.

Has to be the 20th time I've seen it and it just keeps getting funnier. Perfect acting, perfect writing the easily one of the top 5 funniest films of all time! 11/10

scouse mac 10-20-2006 02:10 PM

Silent Hill

Disappointingly average for a film that looks good and has a nicely dark atmosphere.

Geddy 10-20-2006 03:08 PM

Just put in the Omen remake.Hopefully it will be good.

stygianwitch 10-20-2006 04:01 PM

Its lame..... just like what I just finished watching: X-Men 3.

"I'm the Juggernaut bitch!" retarded.

urgeok 10-20-2006 08:05 PM

Click ..

this movie caught me by suprise ... it was funny - but also very mature (for sandler)

it really was quite poignant and hit on a very big - very valid theme.

well done ... at least - it spoke to me..

BudMan 10-20-2006 08:23 PM

This could be the first time we have disagreed on a movie urgeok. Regarding Click.....maybe its just my dislike for Adam Sandler movies.....but I wasn't crazy about this one.I think it tried to hard to tug at the ole heartstrings....plus Sandler always seems to be "acting" to me.....it just doesn't flow. Not to mention the fact that if you had Kate Beckinsale around....you would NOT ingnore her.

urgeok 10-20-2006 08:46 PM

i didnt even know who she was :p

i thought he was very restrained ... delivered the expected laughs but stretched a bit past that this time ..

then again i never had a problem with sandler ..

Phalanx 10-20-2006 09:10 PM

To this day, I still don't like "billy madison" or "happy gilmore"...they just seemed to try too hard, but overall, I don't have a problem with Sandler...I even liked Little Nicky, which I understand most people hated (Man, I gotta get a pair of those shoes). I don't really think he works that well in films that steer more towards drama, like ?spanglish?, I havent seen Click yet.
Although his "over the top stupid" ones, like the ones I mentioned first, they just kinda annoy me.
I think the wedding singer is probably his best work.

BudMan 10-20-2006 09:13 PM

The Wedding Singer is probabaly the only one I didn't hate. I couldn't get through 10 minutes of Little Nicky.....with that stupid fucking voice.......arrrrghhhhh

Phalanx 10-20-2006 09:38 PM

Well yeah, gotta admit that there's a little damn annoying...but as I said, I mainly liked the ideas of the plot. The satanists were pretty funny.

I thought LN was funny as hell. The only Sandler movie that has made me laugh harder is "Happy Gilmore".

slasherman 10-21-2006 03:45 AM

Futureworld...a sequel/remake of Westworld...pretty entertaining

yeah i have a tough time with that one too ...
some parts are funny though ..

I think Billy Madison will always be my favorite - but mostly for all the other people in the film .. norm macdonald brings me to tears no matter what he does ..
chris farley the weird bus driver ... the giant penguin ..

its the one movie he did that was just nuts - free reign (i love that stuff) .. after that there was more of a sense of tightening up the productions ..

Geddy 10-21-2006 07:07 AM
