Beloved.
I don't know what I felt about this movie. It was powerful, but hard to follow, and a little fragmented. I'm gonna have to watch it again before I know for sure.

Lala_Sound 10-17-2006 12:11 PM

The Hard Word

This looked better from the previews than it actually was. Kind of a slow paced Aussie robbery/heist film, but it just wasn't very good. I think the acting was alright, but with all the thick Australian accents, who can be sure? It was just too slow paced and dull for me. They try to throw some curves in at the end, but it's nothing that we haven't seen before. It gets good for about 10 minutes when they are actually pulling off their heist, but other than that I thought it pretty much sucked.

Ichi the Killer

Tons of fun, tons of gore. There were a couple of scenes I had to go back and watch twice.

Hell Night

I hadn't seen this movie in a loooong time. Not as much fun as I remember it being, but still good.

exactly !

this was one movie where i saw it in the theatre - hated it .. then heard a critic describe it as 'you have to look at it in a jules verne kind of way' and i immediately got it.

that doesnt happen very often to me ... but it was totally true - you really can enjoy this flick on that level.

Bree and I rented this about 2 years ago. We watched a couple of other movies the same night, but we started the core at like 2 in the morning, i was already pretty hammered, but i then drank about a half gallon of a concoction of peachtree schnapps, gran gala and tang. it was fruity and i was gone... And i really enjoyed the movie.

I was happy enough i think i laughed when clevon little got cooked like a turkey. Whihc is sick, i know, but come on.... Why would you send the guy who not only created the substance harder than diamond, but the laser that could cut through diamond like air, to the center of the earth?

"They needed his expertise."

yeah right, they needed it so much he was roated for thanksgiving and it still worked....

Hahahahaha...I actualy have a story about that!

My family all watched UHF together about a month before Christmas a few years ago...we all loved that part, right?

Well my dad (who went a little overboard on the gag gifts that year, haha), gave me and my mother Spatulas as gifts, with a tag on them : "New Shipment from Spatula City"

Ok...so not much of a story, but it was funny at the time:p

Darkman II: The Return of Durant

I guess I'll never understand why they felt the need to bring a villain as stupid as the Durant character back from the dead for a sequel... And from a helicopter explosion he escaped with barely any physical scarring no less... There's a new main actor playing Darkman and the girlfriend character from the first film seems to have vanished completely, never to be heard from, seen or thought of again... Come to think of it, that probably IS why they felt the need to bring back such a crappy villain.... All of the other original actors had left the franchise.

Anyways, this was a mediocre follow up to a good movie. The plot was very simple and similar to the original, the villain was the same and just as annoying, Darkman was a different actor and the gore was toned down quite a bit. All in all, this one is no where near as entertaining as the original.

"Re-animator"

First time i see this "Classic".

Thought it was alright, but not sure it´s in my top 20 of horror movies from the 80s.

Jeffrey Combs was excellent though.
