3rd Night was a bit of a slow burner with more tension towards the end. Overall enjoyable, with one of point of criticism: the ending should be a bit more subtle (too on the nose now, that's not what made Pamela Voorhees scary) and the minutes before that a bit less subtle (ie, show the kills).

Da 5 Bloods was a gripping tale about comraderie and betrayal, about spite and forgiveness (and love), about how war can scar people for the rest of their life and how it can create bonds for life. Not just between the soldiers.
While on a surface level, it may be not all that easy to sympathise with the somewhat brass Paul, he turns out to be one of the most layered and complex characters I have seen in a while. Once you look past his episodes where he lashes out, you can see a man who's deeply hurt. Well worth seeing. |

WEAVERFISH 2013
A group of teens trespass to party and camp at RiverCreek. They wake up the next day, massively ill, with some of them covered in a strange and painful rash. I really enjoyed it. A bit off the beaten path. |
The new "Wrong Turn" reimagining? Potential side-quel? Who knows.
It was alright. Don't go in expecting the same kind of movie. It kind of feels like Deliverance meets Far Cry 5? Not much of a comparative gore factor to the rest, but perhaps a more fully realised and interesting back story. I'm gonna say 6.5/10...would have got a 7 if it was trying to be it's own film. |

A MURDEROUS AFFAIR: THE CAROLYN WARMUS STORY 1992
I mainly just watched it to see Chris Sarandon. Pretty sleazy little number based on the real life murder of Betty Jean Solomon. There are other versions i may check out. |

WHY US 2012
Subtitled A guy invites his friends to his parents place for the weekend. On the drive up, they stop for a break and discover an abandoned bunker in the woods. They get locked in and discover they are not alone. Not bad. Hard to see alot of what was going on. |
