DEAD AND BREAKFAST (2004). A small group en route to a Wedding have to stay in small town that is quickly overrun with zombies. While this has some truly funny moments and lots of blood, a lot of it seems scattershot and You almost have a sense the makers want You to acknowledge how witty They are. Not bad, but could have been better. ***

I liked it too, one of the best of the 'new age' in my opinion.

UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN (2003). One of my Wife's girlfriend's mentioned how We "...would LOVE this! Some lovely Tuscanny scenery (and Diane Lane ain't too shabby either!) highlights the story of a Woman in professional/personal flux who figures a change of scenery may do her good. While this isn't bad, it's all sort of predictable and while I hate the "Chick Flick" label, it's fitting for UTTS. **1/2

I liked this one. The lead actress is kind of like Lara Croft. And she has her Indiana Jones bag too. I thought I reviewed this one here. It's a movie that I'll own one day. But I have a thing for hidden mysterious areas in cities.

The When a Stranger Calls remake technically isn't a good movie. But another one I'll own. It has a beautiful lead actress and really well designed house for her to roam around. It's also the first movie for both Tessa Thompson and Katie Cassidy.

I've rewatched this.
It was quite silly, but I think the hate is not really deserved
It was fun.

The history of the creature in The Pyramid is wrong. But I enjoyed it. Pretty blonde lead actress and exploring a pyramid. Which I enjoyed doing in real life. I would like to go back one day.

The Final Girls -

This started out pretty good. One of the actresses from American Horror Story or Scream Queens is the lead. But perhaps I was mislead or expecting something else from the movie. After a while and at the end, the movie reminded me of another movie other than Friday the 13th. That movie is

SPOILERS - White Text highlight to see.

Back to the Future. I was hoping that Malin Akerman's character would come back.

It was like the people behind Final Girls came up with a good premise and cool shots but didn't realize that they had the elements for something even better. I was hoping that there was a sequel. But not yet.

Final Girls is funny in parts and worth a watch for horror and Friday the 13th fans. Still I just wish for a little bit more. It's not a movie I would own unless they made that sequel. And it needs and there is no excuse for not having a sequel going by the ending.

A WEREWOLF IN ENGLAND 2020

A bailiff and his prisoner travelling in olde thyme England are trapped in a hotel where the owners feed their customers to werewolves.

Its a comedy/horror and quite fun.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020)

Enjoyed this; pretty dryly humorous. Fun to see a werewolf movie approach the subject of toxic masculinity, and also manage to be a surprising murder-mystery. It is a liiittle bit of a mess, but definitely worth a watch.

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES (1991). There seems to be a lot read into the relationship between Mary Chase Masterson and Mary-Louise Parker; ie, worshipping the Goddess Sappho, but it appears to Me that it's a deep abiding friendship with several layers. While I enjoyed that part of the film, I felt the interplay between Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates was wonderful; great performances by them and see if You don't catch yourself yelling "TOWANDA!" afterwards. ****

Hollow Man 2 (stand alone to video "sequel") ::roll eyes::
I did enjoy the hollow man vs hollow man thing they did...

I love the first movie though, second one seemed pointless.

OFFICE SPACE (1999). A little uneven in parts, this picks up and actually pretty funny in parts. Some Office workers, sick of the endless bullshit from Higher up and saddled with an EXTREMELY annoying Supervisor, decide it's time to take the Bull by the horns and fight back. Good performances by the cast, especially Gary Cole as the Supervisor with his monotone voice and the endless "Yeah" in every sentence (Had a Supervisor whose main tic was "Do You know what I mean"::sad::) and although I'm on the side of the workers, for Me, Gary provides much of the humor. ***1/2

Jeremy Gardner is awesome per usual.

Had some of the old crew from The Battery, Christian Stella, behind the scenes.

La influencia was a pleasant surprise.

It had a bit of a Shining-like vibe, both in the connection between the grandma and the little girl and Sara looking like Wendy Torrance. It managed to make jump scares not annoying and the ending was pretty intense. Available on Netflix, but best to watch in Spanish.

TaeKwonZombie 10-30-2020 05:00 PM

I know what you did last summer....had to come back to this one I saw it a long time ago, I actually really like this movie, I like the fisherman killer with the ice pick hook, the gorgeous lady's, goofy male actors, and i love that body in the trunk full of crabs great moment...some hate this movie, but I think its pretty good in all honesty, it doesn't bore me like alot of other movies in this sub genre of slasher.

As for the sequel....I don't know, gonna watch that next but I've heard bad things about it, either way when I watch a bad movie I get a good laugh.

Haha

I believe I’ve seen him in 1 movie where he was normal. But then again, I think he was just a side character, so that doesn’t really count.

He was at least somewhat calm as "Weyoun" on DS9...still a prick though...
Though yeah, everything I've seen him in...let's see, I bet if I looked on imdb it would be that, either "crazy guy" or "background guy" of some kind in every role.

Sounds very likely.

The Guyver is the movie I was thinking of, I think.

GOODNIGHT MOMMY (2015). Twin Boys living in a very sterile house await the return of their Mother . She shows up swathed in bandages and different behavior and the Boys begin to wonder if She is really their Mother or an imposter.
Pretty good and downright creepy in several places. ***
