Another of my favorite movies!

First I watched The Island. Meh, it was OK. Didn't really do it for me. I forced myself to watch the whole thing.

After that I started to watch Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring and fell asleep.

my all time favorite move - ever.

Sling Blade is pretty fucking elite
but Bad Boy Bubby is better.... a bit more positive and not as insulting to handicapped/"simple" people (but thats a topic for another thread).

I'll burn you the 2 disc SE (Umbrella) if you don't have the flick.... even tho a bunch of the extras kill the point of it (at least it'll make you avoid the horrible shit everyone involved put out afterwards). But disc 2 is worth it for the imfamous short film Nicholas Hope doesn't like to mention.

This flick is what movies are all about because it gets all the emotions going and its an experience.... you won't know whats hit you.

Spectacular film. Phenominal tension, decent acting, and a well-executed ending. The pacing was a little slow, and when I say the pacing's a little slow it's legit, because I'm all for long, atomspheric movies.

It's no Suspiria, but it comes close at times.

"Deep Red" is better than "Susperia"...fact !:p

watched "Devils on wheel"...good thriller and half of "Night of the Creep" ...

The Ringer.
Done slightly more tastefully than I would've thought.
Some laughs...not bad, but not great. Manages to do what it does without being completely offensive.

Miss Olivia 09-21-2006 01:30 PM

Galaxy Quest. One of my favorite comedies. I think it's especially hilarious if you've ever watched "Trekkies."

By Grapthar's hammer..........what a savings.

Priceless.

It's one of those movies that doesn't ave any business being as funny as it is. I foolishly dismissed this one outright on its theatrical release and have come to truly love it as it plays (ad nauseum) on cable.

Brilliant writing and acting

The Butcher Boy. This is a brilliant movie, and a lot of people haven't seen it. If you can understand Irish Brogue, watch this movie. It goes from funny to sad to shocking to funny again.....one of my favorite films.

Who Is Harry Kellerman and Why Is He Saying Those Terrible Things About Me?

Not what I was expecting at all, but I liked it. Really strange...almost surreal in places. Hoffman is awesome in this.

The_Return 09-22-2006 08:50 AM

Rosemary's Baby

Ive been trying to brush up on some classics lately, and this definatly fits the bill. Absolutely incredible.

Thought I'd have a look at the crocodile hunter movie "crash course" was it? It was pretty much the only thing of Irwins I hadn't seen at some point, it felt a little strange knowing it would be the last thing I'd see. It was more watchable that I'd have thought, funny, and some very nice footage...er, it was rather obvious there were some trained animals (they seemed to have cg'd the eyes of the croc too) throughout the feature, mainly the larger ones, but they did a good job. Silly plot, but pretty informative I suppose. You could tell the studio had Steve beef up the "aussie" bit, I noticed he was even more colloquial than usual for this one, and definately said "mate" a whole lot more that I'd ever seen before...but all the same, it was decent, with some very nice camera work, and an interesting "documentary"/movie blend. I assume kids would probably really like this one.

Just watching steamboy now.
Good voice talent, very nice musical score and the animation is just amazing. Interesting alternate past universe setting, and a decent enough storyline. Never much liked akira, but this one's looking like my favourite since princess mononoke. Definately worth a watch if you've not yet seen it.
