The Deer Hunter

I got the Region 1 Legacy Series 2 disc edition a few weeks ago, and watched it last night. This is a brilliant film. Excellent character development makes you really feel for the characters portrayed. It runs for a shade over 3 hours, but I found myself totally swept up in it. A very potent anti-war film.

The Great Mouse Detective
Vincent Price is great even as an animated rat.

Underworld: Evolution

I liked it. The CGI got on my nerves pretty quick, but otherwise it was pretty enjoyable. Not as good as the first though.

Massacre at Central High

Low-budget, and unrealistic... but I really, really liked it. This is my third time watching it.

urgeok 08-19-2006 10:19 AM

Final Destination 3

well, i couldnt get interested in any of the stars but as in #2 they sure had fun with the gore and inventive 'Rube Goldberg device' killings.

nicely staged crashes too ..

the actors are uninteresting kids - but someone is showing the love for the old school horror vibe ..

Fucked. Up. Movie. I'm not using my dick for at least a week.

Ray

Good movie, a little depressing, but interesting.

Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff

Another spectacular classic from the funniest duo of all time.

Not to good at the full review thing and this probably isn't much to go on, but I thought it was a pretty cool movie and I really enjoyed it.

Agreed

krymzynstarr 08-20-2006 03:08 AM

Running Scared WAS good, and that hockey puck scene looked painful.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
This was my first time viewing this and I must say that it was such a bleak and dark film, it wasn't all that gory, but it was still disturbing nonetheless. It wasn't your typical 80's cheesefest flick. I was impressed.

976-EVIL
Now, speaking of cheesefests, Stephen Geoffreys (Evil Ed from Fright Night) stars in this one where if you call that number you get supernatural powers...it's funny to think that "Evil" Ed went from acting in teen horrors to "acting" in numerous gay porns in the 90's and onward.

Phantasm
It's been years since I've seen this film, and the Tall Man STILL creeps me out.

XtRaVa 08-20-2006 05:59 AM

Was on late last night whilst I was in bed, so I watched it:

The Rage: Carrie 2

Carrie should have been left alone, as it was an all-time classic. This modern teen movie sequel really doesnt do much justice to its predecessor, nor does the storyline differ in any way, shape or form.

The climactic revenge killing at the end has some nice deaths, but all in all its a very cheap film, and not one to actively seek out to watch.
