I completely agree.:)

I just watched Class of Nuke Em High again. It's super low budget Troma, but it's still pretty entertaining. Not as much as when I was a teenager, but still pretty funny. The bad acting in Troma is kind of like cheap beer. You know it's gonna give you a headache, but it still has the desired effect.

Oh yeah, and the monster is actually pretty damn cool.

Gary Cole. He also does alot of voice work (Harvey Birdman for example). Fantastic comic actor.

He was in The Ring 2 as well...he's kinda like Bruce Campbell or Jeffery Combs, in that his few scenes were a bright spot in an otherwise awful movie.

I actually never watched it. I saw the boxset at Future Shop not long ago, but I didnt want to spend $50 on a blind-buy. Looks pretty cool though.

He's amazing in everything. He plays some of the strangest characters too :D

Despare 07-27-2006 05:09 PM

Jersey Girl, urgeok said it wasn't THAT bad and I believed him and gave this one a rental. It really wasn't bad at all and while it was a little predictable it didn't deserve the critical lambasting it recieved... I've seen much worse. Carlin and Liv Tyler were good and I was surprised by Jennifer Lopez too. Wasn't the movie I expected and if you're looking for a movie to watch with your SO this is a great choice.

The Mothman 07-27-2006 06:11 PM

Hills Have Eyes remake.

loved it best movie to come out in the past 5 years in my opinion. fucking grade A amazing. this is what a horror movie should look like my friends!

The_Return 07-27-2006 07:47 PM

You, Me and Dupree

Micheal Douglas couldnt even save this garbage. Inconsistant as hell, wholly unfunny, and incredibly childish. I'll admit that it picked up a tiny bit near the end, but it wasnt enough to make this drek worth watching.

My favorite scenes are whenever the characters say "Frau Bleucher (sp?)" and you hear horses whinnying (sp?)! :D

The whole movie is awesome. I loved it. Mel is the best for comedy.

I can never decide between Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles. They're both the best comedies ever!

Don't bother with "Life Stinks" tho. It sucked big time!

Premutos: Lord of the living dead.

with a bodycount of 139, you cant go worng. impressive gore effects. funny too.

crabapple 07-28-2006 07:04 PM

Premutos is definitely one of those "six beers" movies. Goes well with the sound of cans of beer being opened intermittently.

The Mothman 07-28-2006 07:05 PM

watched Hills Have eyes (2006) once again. 3rd time, only the second day ive owned it.

joshaube 07-28-2006 07:24 PM

Percentage ratings now.

The Boondock Saints / 78%
A cult classic, and while I enjoyed it, I wouldn't quite say I'm a member. I had a friend, Julie, reccomend me this and I'm glad she did. She's a member, she watches it just to count how much they say "Fuck!". Hehe, I have to ask her again how many times it was. Around 80+ I believe she had said.

It's a good, fun movie. Kept my interest. And the ending was fairly good. Climactic, or memorable in a sense. What they did with the ending credits was a great idea as well. Some of them could have acted a bit better though, as their lines were cheesy and poorly delivered. Would have made it that much better.

The characters of the Saints were well casted and played, and while I didn't like the third, he was annoying - his character was meant to be that way, so I guess he did his job. I personally thought the brothers would be better off without him behind a gun. Maybe just his information could've been put to use.

The soundtrack was gorgeous, hauntingly beautiful. Willem's scenes which his "orchastra" pieces were both well-crafted and utterly hillarious. Actually, all of his scenes were. In a good way. :) Great character played by a great actor. Never thought that much of him until now.

I reviewed Scary Movie 4 earlier, and this is a perfect comparison to point out why I rated it so harshly (14%). This movie was 500x more funny then it was, and Scary Movie 4 was pure comedy. This wasn't. I believe a comedy that offers nothing else should be more funny then a movie who has comedy as a sub-genre in the backburner. Isn't that only proper? Tsk, tsk.

Perhaps character developement and humour developed out of events is more effective then fart jokes and baudy humour. Uh, ...duh? Tell the writers of Scary Movie. I guess it's all just taste... anyway.

One Missed Call is up next! If I stay awake long enough. ^^"
