I remember hearing Oscar the Grouch and Darth Vader was in one the Night at the Museums... it must be the sequel.

Night at the Museum (2006)
6/10

Ben Stiller gets a job as a the night watchman at the city museum. At night everything comes alive.

It's OK for kids, or a light family film to talk over. Has mildly humorous moments. Pretty syrupy, by the numbers and surprisingly uncreative considering the possibilities.

I like Ben Stiller, loved him and everything in Mystery Men, but he was very restrained in this.

A Quiet Place 7/10

I liked it well enough. Hated the ending, though.

Check out #2.
Amy Adams ass is SO perve-worthy through that entire movie...it's also, a decent sequel. It's funny. Kids will love it. Adults won't hate it. Stands as a solid sequel to the first one.
Never saw the third.

I've just read about that. Legendary buttocks film. I also heard Hank Azaria is great in this.

same here. ending was very cliche. basically didn't like all of the ending sequences, starting with the grain tower. no surprises with the hearing aid feedback. maybe the only surprise was the fate of one of the main characters, and I didn't like that all... didnt even really have any impact, seemed forced and clunky.

Unfriended: The Dark Web - 7/10

This actually surprised me. The only issue I had was that considering the entire movie takes place over a computer screen, all the messages back and forth between the characters were impossible to read unless I walked up to my TV which I did quite often actually. I don't hold that against the movie as it was just part of the illusion of it all being on a computer screen. This movie had some very creepy elements to it And I recommend it. To be honest I have never seen the first one but I am assuming this one has nothing to do with that one.

I didn't much like Body Snatchers 1993. It didn't offer anything new. Since this film was almost approaching a sequel, as it jumps right into the alien reveal quickly, it was a great opportunity to get into the nature of the alien life, origin, belief systems and sociology, get into some good conversations, build up an enemy character. But the big conversation in this film was actually less than the original 1956 version, and the quality of the convo wasn't as good either, it was just a copy. ::wink::

Plus I didn't think it was as exciting or scary as the prior two versions.

I can't remember the killer in the first one clearly but I would think it's the same killer. But I remember posting a review about the first one and not being that impressed. I think had similar problems with the nature of the whole movie and the concept of it being on chat screens.

MATINEE (1993). Fantastic Joe Dante film of a William Castle-esque director (John Goodman is great) coming to Key West during the Cuban Missle Crisis with a new gimmicky film for the theater. Dante certainly did his homework with lots of In jokes, character actors, posters, magazines and songs of the period. All Monster kids will love this one. *****

"Apostle" 8-9/10

A damn good horror movie. Story had a Wicker Man vibe to it, just way more violent and gory. The entire cast was solid and the score was really amazing.

It's on Netflix, go see it.
