HAUNTED MAZE 2017

Dreadful business but uniquely presented. Teenagers are stalked by a sick af clown while going through a maze on Halloween.

GODZILLA (1998). Colossal waste of time and just dreadful on every level. My wife wanted me to watch this and I guess it was her revenge after I talked her into watching FASTER,PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL!...I still think she got the better deal. *

I watched part of a movie on Netflix called Stephanie. It was a depressing and deeply disturbing movie.

UNCAGED 2016

A young man discovers that upon turning 18, he has become a werewolf. He and his cousin do what they can to hide the fact but end up making things worse.

Had some funny parts and I kept losing the plot but I liked it.

The Nun

8/10

I enjoyed it. I thought the acting was very good, the story was good. A few too many jump scares, but, they did make me jump! LOL Overall, really liked it, and will probably buy the DVD when it comes out.

Gone (2012)
8/10

IMDB: "A woman is convinced her kidnapper has returned when her sister goes missing. "

It's a tight and fast moving thriller. It's nicely shot, mildly exciting, fairly interesting and easy to understand. There isn't much heart to it... you don't get to know the characters very well -- certainly not enough to like or care about them enough. Also, it's 'by the numbers', nothing original or creative here. It's a bit cliche in that sense, but the heroine is quite clever, so that's the kick of the film.

His Perfect Obsession (2018)
5/10

IMDB "Allison Jones and her blind daughter Abigail return to Allison's childhood hometown after the death of Allison's beloved aunt. While mother and daughter are reeling from this tragic loss and adjusting to small town life, they encounter Bart McGregor, a helpful local accountant who knew Allison when she was a teenager. But what at first seems like a helpful friendliness soon turns into something more sinister. Bart has harboured a dangerous obsession with Allison for many years, and will do whatever it takes to spend as much time as possible with Allison and Abigail. Abigail, who was at first charmed by the quaint small town, quickly begins to realize that not all is as it seems."

Lifetime movie I tried watching with someone. When the 'killers' elderly mother starts yelling at him, and he acts 'crazy', it was just a little too cliche for me... made me cringe. Been done too many times, and this was much too soft and slow a touch. Again, for someone who's never seen anything like this before... maybe they'd like it.

GARDEN ISLAND A PARANORMAL DOCUMENTARY 2012

Give this one a swerve. So dark in places, too much like Blair Witch and I still don't even know what happened.

"Mandy" 8/10

If it wasn't for Cage and his crazy ass performance I would probably have rated this a 6/10. Funny to see him in this kind of movie, which is straight up gory revenge horror on acid. First 40 minutes were quite slow tho.

"Searching" 8/10

Very creative storytelling. I'm amazed how well this concept worked. Might become the new "found footage" style.

Interstellar (2014)
7/10

Near future Earth is increasingly unable to produce crops, but there may be some assistance in outer-space.

I'd like to boost Interstellar rating to an 8/10 for is special effects, but in 10 years I don't know how impressive they will seem. The effects are done well, regardless of how advanced they are, so that's something too.

I liked the story, it had a good message, and the performances were done well, a few fairly interesting characters. For me the ending wasn't quite compelling enough... it wasn't necessarily that it seemed too implausible, though that was part of it, it's just if love was the power, I would have expected a more emotional resolution.

SPOILER: in white - if I understood it right, I guess the time-jumping place where McConaughey was was constructed by "our future selves", but I wasn't sure if he meant his future self, of future humans, but in either case, it just doesn't make sense to me.
