Well, I finally got my copy of From Beyond today, and I watched it for the first time since I was a kid. It was pretty good....I just wish Barbara Crampton would have gotten her brains sucked out.

Sick_As_Fuck 07-10-2006 04:14 PM

The Great White Hype - Classic Samuel L. Jackson stuff. Jamie Foxx is comedy in this, too.

Dead Man's Chest

9/10

I loved it a lot more than the first, and I adore the KRAKEN. I'm a big sea monster lover, and it was perfect!

Never Let Go

Great little overlooked film noir. I'd only seen Peter Sellers in comedic roles until now, but this proves that he's just as incredible in a serious role. Very highly recomended.

Creep

I'm beggining to appreciate UK horror above all else, for an obvious trend that is appearing. It seems every single one I've watched - I ended up liking. For one reason, or another. The Toybox, The Descent, Dog Soldiers, House of 9, and now this. All little gems (mostly little) that I didn't expect as much of as I ended up getting.

In the case of Creep, it suceeds in the visual and audio departments. Excellent background pieces, and I expecially loved the train audio montage that was set to a beat. Came off as being very original. The setting, characters, scenes and effects for this film were all spectacularly designed, and pleasing to the eyes. Mainly the train station (which was refreshing since I have never seen one before, as they aren't in our area), the killing scenes, and most importantly - the "monster".

CGI has failed with monsters, and latex suits reign supreme. Glad to see them used in this film as well. There was some very "fat roll"-like issues with it, when he moved a certain way... but it could be argued tat it was just loose skin. He was fucking creepy either way. And the "Jimmy" scene? Gaaah... I got a slight chill.

The gore effects are equally well done and designed. They look pleasing, and brutal. The throat-slightings, while you can tell how they were done, look real. Usually the head comes off as very fake, or the skin near the neck looks like foam... but not here. Perhaps it's faults were covered by the nicely-hued blood. Not fingerpaint red, not black, just right. Not realistic, but it looks right. If that makes sense.

Now my favourite part, was the ending. I won't ruin it, but you can't help but chuckle a little, as the main character does as well before breaking into tears. Shows something about humanity, eh?

Reccomended for a horror fan.

Damn double poster...

Pirates 2 and I loved it (ending and all). Yes, the Kraken was undeniably wicked.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

There's not too many movies with better acting.

Easy Rider

Okay, I've seen bits & pieces of this film before and none of it really caught my interest so it's taken me this many years to watch it from start to finish. I was disappointed. This movie is really overhyped and unless you are really into motorcycles, hippy music or looking at scenery, you'll probably be as bored as I was. The acting is superb, but the the whole story just sorta sucked and whoever had the idea of injecting a 5 minute motorcycle riding cross country montage in, set to 70s music, for every 20 minutes of film ought to be fired. All in all, I was bored and disappointed, but the acting was good.

I saw SAW II again last night and the acting actually gets worse for each time you see it.. But I REALLY like it anyway. I'm claustrophobic so I think it's scaaary :D

Freak 07-10-2006 11:58 PM

The Fog remake.

Not very good but worth a watch to kill some time.

Sorry to hear that... That's a great movie and a classic.

The Guyver

i had to turn this unwatchable piece of shit off ...

i felt like i was watching a poorly made extended version of the Power Rangers.

actually ...i'd rather watch the power rangers anyday.

pathetic acting, direction, lighting, and above all - music ...

had the look and feel of a shitty full moon video.

a blemish on the resume of everyone involved.

ugggggggghhhhh, blade trinity was unbearable. except for ryan renolds, his lines were pretty f-ing funny. blade 2 was the best in that series, Guillermo del Toro made that movie what it should be: an action/thriller.

Are you shitting me? Ryans lines were so Embarrassingly unfunny that every time he fired a one-liner his eyes and dead facial expressions were screaming "PUT A BULLET TO MY HEAD!!".

they may not have been comedy gold, but they got me through that beast of a movie... come on, you didn't think that dialogue about triple h's character f-ing his dog wasn't funny?

was that a good movie??? i tend to stay away from pg-13 movies that are geared towards high school kids, but just friends looked like it might have been funny...

i laughed pretty damn hard at a lot of places ..
there was good interraction between him and his 'brother' ... and every scene with his 'former girlfriend' was really funny.

Hell of the Living Dead

Pretty run of the mill "Dawn of the Dead" ripoff. It wasnt too bad, but it wasnt that good either. Worth watching once if you come across it, but nothing spectacular.

Sick_As_Fuck 07-12-2006 04:45 PM

The Howling: New Moon Rising - Wholy mother of god. I could only stand this shit for 5 minutes until I changed it. That had to be THE worst acting I've ever seen. I can only imagine how awful the werewolf and kill scenes looked.
