Spaceship Nostromo - 4

Frankenstein's Castle (Universal) - 4

A great competitive semi-final! Nostromo or Frank's castle? …who will face off Hill house in the final showdown?!

Spaceship Nostromo

Go Frankenstein's Castle.

roshiq 05-16-2014 09:29 AM

Spaceship Nostromo - 5

Frankenstein's Castle (Universal) - 5

I was about to declare Frankenstein's Castle as the winner (with a 5-4 lead) but then just the 5th vote for Nostromo also came in ::confused:: :danger:

totem 05-16-2014 10:04 AM

Can my avatar count as a 2nd vote for the Nostromo?

MichaelMyers 05-16-2014 11:49 AM

Down goes Nostromo! Down goes Nostromo!!

MichaelMyers 05-16-2014 11:50 AM

A good finals matchup. I still would've liked to have seen a head-to-head fight between Overlook hotel vs. Nostromo.

Sculpt 05-16-2014 07:43 PM

two great choices...

But I'm voting for Spaceship Nostromo

roshiq 05-16-2014 10:54 PM

Frankenstein's Castle (Universal) - 7 (neverending, MichaelMyers, realdealblues, hammerfan, Straker, Horror4ever & The Villain)

Spaceship Nostromo - 7 (_____V_____, metternich1815, Fearonsarms, Zero, Elijah23256, totem & Sculpt)

OMG! Is it the best battle of the tournament?! Nostromo & Frankenstein's castle is still fighting neck & neck in this very intense semi-final. The ultimate fate of this match now lies on the next voter's decision...

MichaelMyers 05-17-2014 07:34 AM

roshiq. A bold proposition: might you be the deciding vote?

lolz! that's a pretty generous proposition, thank you. But there are still few regular/irregular voters left to vote in this match i.e. ChronoGrl, newb, ferretchucker, a stranger or even fortunato (who I guess rarely logs in here lately) & Elvis Christ (the very first voter in this tourney!); I'm actually waiting for them or any new or old member (who haven't voted a single vote yet) are always welcome. Though I'd love to vote in such an exciting match but as the organizer of this & my very first tournament, I won't actually like to give a special tie-breaker vote to just break the deadlock & get biased at any point of view.

Let's see..what happens within next few hours...

ChronoGrl 05-17-2014 07:34 PM

Tough decision but I have to go with the Castle... So incredibly iconic.

roshiq 05-18-2014 02:39 AM

Frankenstein's Castle (Universal) - 8 (neverending, MichaelMyers, realdealblues, hammerfan, Straker, Horror4ever, The Villain & ChronoGrl)

Spaceship Nostromo - 7 (_____V_____, metternich1815, Fearonsarms, Zero, Elijah23256, totem & Sculpt)

And finally ChronoGrl comes with the most anticipated & deciding vote of this superbly exciting semi-final.

Frankenstein's Castle (Universal) moves to the final & ready to battle for the ultimate glory!

_____V_____ 05-18-2014 09:14 AM

Really tough choice, but like Nostromo, I am going with Hill House.

Like I said before, a huge part of The Haunting's legacy is built around it's setting. People don't remember the characters today, but mention The Haunting to them, and the immediate image they come up with in their minds is of Hill House. Dark, brooding, menacing, scary, filled with unknown terrors, a place as scary as Nostromo itself.

And above all, the film's central character.

On the other hand, the Frankenstein films are remembered more for their fantastic characters, and only passionate vintage horror fans remember the setting and set pieces of the films in the franchise. No doubt magnificent, but not as overwhelming as Hill House.

The Haunting - A timeless, ageless classic, set in a timeless, ageless setting.

Hill House, no question. No doubts.

MichaelMyers 05-18-2014 09:43 AM

Frankenstein's castle!!!:halloween:

I'm voting for Frankenstein's Castle, just to be an ass and tie up the score...::stick out tongue::

Frankenstein's Castle...I never would have gotten into electronics or built a Jacob's Ladder without it.

roshiq 05-19-2014 01:30 PM

Frankenstein's Castle (Universal)- 8

Hill House (The Haunting) - 6

Just because of it's The FINAL, I'll wait for another 24 hrs before declaring the winner. Waiting for few more votes to seal it.

hammerfan 05-19-2014 02:40 PM

Thanks for the heads-up, roshiq! I would have missed it otherwise!
