Excision

Gets better every time I watch it, and I loved it from the first viewing.

Where the female lead in The Loved Ones was crazy in a sexy way the female lead in this one was crazy in a gross way. Good movie and a very good performance.

I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016) - bad title. obnoxious music. competent acting. terrible script. Just go watch something else. 4/10

Cat Sick Blues (2015)

https://s16.postimg.org/beg969fmd/Ca...ues_Poster.jpg

A demented cat lover attempts to bring his dead cat back - by taking nine human lives!

Kinda odd, disgusting & funny at times.

Within a.k.a. Crawlspace (2016)

https://s22.postimg.org/gpgevnxkh/Within.jpg

A family moves into a peaceful suburban neighborhood. But as strange things begin to happen around them, it becomes clear that something about their seemingly perfect home isn't right.

There's something or someone lurk around the corners....

Not bad...fairly entertaining.

The Greasy Strangler (2016)

This is one of the films that I planned on watching during the October month but due to the interference from Vicar Amelia I didn't get around to it...Now this one didn't dissapoint - Imagine the early works of John Waters and style of Napoleon Dynamite combined to make a Show reel with a Plot for a company that make STUNT COCKS then you might have a little grasp of what we are dealing with here.

A Father/Son team that run Disco tours have their life changed when a 'sexy' young woman comes into their life, add to this that the dad may be a serial killer. Every single character in it acts ODD and is odd. There is a great sound track and a satisfactory ending. The film also contains the best PHONE SEX scene ever...

If you think Divine eating dog shit is your idea of real entertainment then this is highly recommended - if you like The Big Bang Theory and would like a grease free diet then AVOID...AVOID...AVOID...

That's too bad. The Ouija board is such a rich device for a some really good horror (and still is). And hearing an accomplished screenplay writer/director like Mike Flanagan took it up, has me very interested. I'll see this film soon.

An odd sensation? Tingling in the extremities or a burning in the belly? ::big grin::

The Witch (2015 film)
5/10

Quote:

A family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession.
A devoted period and subject matter piece, which I have to respect. Nice acting and cinematic technique, and out-of-the-ordinary presentation and story.

I liked the presentation of authentic belief system as character and setting. The director adopted dialogue directly from written documents of the period. However, generally speaking, people don't speak the way they write, nor they way the give legal testimony -- and unlikely the way they talk and act in private with their family. And so the characters and dialogue are often stiff. I think not only more stiff than artistically required, even stiffer than in authenticity.

I didn't find the film enjoyable. It took me as rather bleak from beginning to end without any saving counter-point. It wasn't suspenseful, but rather mildly curious and mysterious. I found the ending climax also bleak, subdued and ambiguous.

Despite the (practical) effects being on the cheap side and the dumb ending, it's a pretty solid snow/mountain horror movie. But I'm kinda biased since I love snow/mountain horror movies. I wish more horror took place in a similar setting.

X-Men: Apocalypse
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...pscilikdsi.jpg

I don't get all the hate for this movie, i thought it was pretty good. They balanced all the characters well and were well utilized. Apocalypse was a great villain and i enjoyed the story even during the slow parts. I am a little tired of the whole "see the good in you" solution when dealing with Magneto but besides that i had no problem with the film. Much like Days of Future Past, Quicksilver steals the show and had the best part of the movie. This is definitely the weakest of the new trilogy but by no means a bad movie.

Looking at the trailer... is this basically a different version of The Thing 82? Or the Who Goes There story?

Swing Time with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Great dancing of course, and some really good songs even though they're not written by Irving Berlin.

Yes, I enjoyed Blood Glacier as well and will often try to find horror films in winter, isolated type settings.(which leads to a lot of Swedish and Norwegian films.)

Doctor Strange (2016)

"A former neurosurgeon embarks on a journey of healing only to be drawn into the world of the mystic arts."

This was really cool. I wasn't sure how Benedict Cumberbatch would do leading a superhero movie, but he did great. I haven't seen him in much, but he's proven to me to be a very versatile actor. I liked the magic aspect that hasn't really been touched on in other Marvel movies. The one tiny gripe I had was the kinda-sorta love story between Strange and his nurse friend/girlfriend. It was unnecessary and half-baked. The special effects were some of the coolest I've seen.

Oh, I'm definitely a fan. It's the third time I've seen it and its a sick and fun watch every time. The acting leaves something to be desired for sure, but the pace and insane action in the film makes it's shortcomings tolerable. Five Across The Eyes is some crrrrazy shit!
