bwind22 05-04-2006 05:36 AM

Round 2 - Match 4

Sam Raimi - Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, Crimewave, Darkman, The Gift {Sam also directed the 1st 2 Spiderman movies, The Quick & The Dead, and A Simple Plan.}

Peter Jackson - Bad Taste, Braindead (aka Dead Alive), The Frighteners (Peter also made the Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong.)

2 directors that started out in the sloppy gore genre but have worked their ways all the way to being mega Hollywood players....

Who will come out on top?

Zero 05-04-2006 05:40 AM

Ouch.....gotta go with Sam Raimi.

Raimi

MisterSadistro 05-04-2006 07:10 AM

Since 'King Kong' dragged on forever in what I'd consider to be the closest contest yet, I'll have to go with Raimi on this.

6-1 Sam Raimi leads Peter Jackson!

Can PJ pull off the comeback???

Need more votes..............

The_Return 05-04-2006 08:42 AM

They both have made some incredible films, but I have to say Sam Raimi comes out on top.

AUSTIN316426808 05-04-2006 08:46 AM

If this were the 'Directors Tournament' then it'd be a hard match but it's the 'Horror Directors Tournament', so imo it's Raimi hands down.

I'm going to say Peter Jackson to keep it alive since I can't decide. Don't care for his new stuff at all but oh well.

Yeti.13 05-04-2006 09:46 AM

Sam's early stuff was good but got a bit weker, all of Jacksons work is solid, so Jackson.

alkytrio666 05-04-2006 09:49 AM

Peter Jackson

The Mothman 05-04-2006 11:10 AM

Dead alive and Evil Dead are my two favorite horror films of all time. this is a tough one...I'd have to say Peter jackson, because Riami has some crappy ones under his belt, whilst all of PJ's films are phenomonal. both are both excellent either way.

Jacob Singer 05-04-2006 11:28 AM

Peter Jackson

Raimi Raimi Raimi!

Yellow Jacket 05-04-2006 02:33 PM

Sam Raimi

bwind22 05-04-2006 08:27 PM

10-6 Sam Raimi manages to fend off Peter Jackson, who made a surge at the end, but it was too little too late.

Next match coming right up.

Haha. No kidding. He's lucky he made Bubba Ho-Tep or he wouldn't have even been put in this tournament to begin with!

MisterSadistro 05-04-2006 09:53 PM

I'll go with Gordon just because we had on his episode from the 'Masters of Horror' series and I've been impersonating him ever since :D
