It is a really solid flick, with a strong cast. I would've like to have seen it on stage..... and yeh that was a pretty amazing song, she was in the broadway show too wasn't she?

:D I was wondering what you were gonna say about that! Manhunter is one of my favorites, and I think I prefer Cox's Hannibal because its not such a over the top preformance. Very subtle but chilling.

Eddie

Eddie pretty much sums up what a feel-good comedy is to me. Now, a lot of you guys here may call a feel-good comedy a movie that makes you feel good inside. To me, a feel-good comedy is a movie in which I enjoy, but don't laugh, or laugh just a little. And Eddie, like mentioned before, sums up what a feel-good comedy is to me. Going into my viewing of Eddie, I wasn't sure what to make of it. Wasn't looking forward to it being a classic, or anything that close to being a classic. I doubted it even be average fair. But, once the credits rolled, I had a big smile on my face! Now, I wouldn't declare Eddie a classic, but it is one of my favorite comedies. Well, one of my favorite feel-good comedies. What made Eddie work was the cast. All of them were great! From Whoopi Goldberg to Frank Langella to Dennis Farina to the NBA players (I'm not shitting you), they all worked well. They were the ones that put the smile on my face. Sure, I didn't like Eddie's best friend, but she only appeared in three to four scenes max. On a different note, I'd like to point out that Frank Langella reminded me of Burt Reynolds in this movie. He didn't look like Reynolds, but his character reminded me of him. The way he acted and the way he dressed, automatically made me think of Reynolds. Hell, they could've replaced Langella with Reynolds! That would've been great! But, Langella was great in his role, so it didn't really matter. All in all (and one and one), Eddie turned out ot be a surprising comedy that came righ toff of the bench and made the winning basket!

4 and a half stars out of 5

Amalthea, what's the worst movie you've ever seen and what would you rate it? I'm not trying to be a smartass I'm just curious because you never seem to watch a bad movie which is great.

she was .. the only b-way cast to be in the movie.

the coolest part of the song is that she sang it in her character voice as well ..

Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Without a doubt, this is the funniest movie I've seen in ages. I know that I saw the original Wallace and Gromit shorts as a kid, but to be honest I don't remember them in the least. So basically this was my introduction to the world of W & G...and what an introduction it was! First of all, I absolutely loved all the crazy contraptions. From the Gromitt controlled she-rabbit to the Bun-Vac 6000, I laughed at every single one. Throughout the film the expressions on Gromit's face were priceless, certainly one of the high points. Finally, I loved all the hidden film references, as well as a few hidden dirty jokes. Hilarious! To sum it up...see this film! I know I'll be tracking down the original shorts in the near future...

9/10

Bruce Cambpell get to say a few good Bruce Campbell lines, but no actor in the world could save such piece of shit story with fitting low, low budget. Why did he do it? WHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

"11:11 - the gate" 6/10

Semi good american ghost story with a plot that makes you think of asian ghost movies.;)

AH!

I love LHOTL. I think it's got a great atmosphere, I'm crazy about the '70s grindhouse, grainy film style (ex. TCM '74).

alkytrio666 03-20-2006 10:57 AM

Yesterday I watched a little indie flick called 'Dracula: Pages From a Virgin's Diary'.

What a piece of shit movie. Lame as HELL.

When I TiVOd it, the description didn't mention it was a ballet movie.

Oooo! How scary! Dracula dances with his victims, and then with Van Helsing. What a homo. This movie actually pissed me off.

sinistar 03-20-2006 10:57 AM

"Stillwater" -- an indie film I happened upon at the video store. It's one of those movies with film festival award symbols all over it, however, it sucks. Very boring, uses a lot of flashbacks that aren't fully explained or resolved, the main character does not elicit and sort of sympathy, and the director resorted to some very obviously contrived "did he or didn't he?" type scenes.

Puss In Boots...A live-action version with Christopher Walken as the cat (yes, that IS why I bought it:p)...It was okay...Silly as hell

Phantom Of The Opera...With Robert Englund as the phantom...Not too bad...But, it proves I'll buy anything with Robert Englund in it

It hints at the possibility that the phantom was Jack The Ripper...Meshing fantasy with real-life...I thought that was pretty cool

Avenging Force

pretty fuckin' dope Cannon action flick with the usual eccentric villians and plenty of violence. Didn't top Ninja III or Invasion USA for me (anyone seen this one? Very cool possession ninja splatter flick). Kinda cool revisting these flicks I enjoyed as a kid.
