Wayward pines season 1 (and probably only)

Started off very promising as a Twin Peaks meets The Truman Show mystery. But after only a couple of episodes the mystery was revealed way too soon and everything seemed rushed from thereon out, and the show ended up closer to Lost (in every meaning of the word). The holes in the ridiculous story seemed endless. And don't get me started on Matt Dyllan's character. He was almost like a sixth sensed The Flash. ::roll eyes::

Yeah. I've only watched one episode after the big reveal and it nose dived fast. I'm already seeing what they're going to do and it will be disappointing. I really liked the big reveal, regardless of plot holes, but it was such a cool idea and presented well, my guess is, the show will continue to nose dive. Alas.

You got that right.

At least the show is only 10 episodes long.

Just watched the X-Files pilot.
Trying to get through the whole series in time for the new mini.
Never saw it all the way through as a teen...got to maybe season 6-7 and never in any real kind of "every episode" type watching.
I look forward to revisiting what I've watched and seeing that which I haven't. Can't say I ever saw a single episode with Robert Patrick.
Scully is insanely hot, have always thought so.

Pilot was a little boring...can't recall ever seeing this one.
First recollection I have is some episode about invisible tiny bugs that come out only in the dark...

Very much looking forward to the introduction of the russian guy and the clones.

Season finale of Wayward Pines. I guess I'm the only one here that liked it. Although they really messed up the finale. Yeesh

Hey I watched all the episodes, so it must've had SOMETHING going for it. I did like some of the actors and the idea, as TheBoss mentioned, was really interesting.

I used to love Scooby-Doo, my favourite was 'Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island', it was actually kinda scary back then ::embarrassment:: Oh gosh now I want to watch it

Zombie Island traumatized me when I was a kid. I don't think too much of it now though. The original TV shows will always be my favorite though. Besides the nostalgia (my sister and I grew up with several VHS tapes as it was my mother's favorite show growing up), it also has the most beautiful backgrounds I've ever seen. Their creepy atmosphere and use of colors and textures... I'd love to one day own one of the original backgrounds to any of my favorite episodes. Also love a lot of the monsters the show came up with. I just love sitting and drawing to them while watching a marathon of episodes.

First time I watched it (can't remember how old I was but I was pretty young) it scared the hell out of me ::big grin::
I can't remember much of the TV show episodes but I remember always wanting to grow up and be apart of a gang like that haha.
I looove drawing whilst watching TV shows and films!

horcrux2007 07-31-2015 06:37 PM

I'm watching Astronauts Wives Club, and it's probably the most boring show I've ever seen. It's scene after scene of the women talking about their husbands.

cheebacheeba 08-01-2015 06:57 PM

Watched another x-files or two yesterday...one was pretty good, still very early in the series...was about the agents going to an arctic research centre where they found that an alien organism had been hiding out deep in the ice, it would infect people and make them kill each other...saw it moving around in their necks...bit reminiscent of "The Thing", if I didn't know better I'd say it was an intentional nod.

I fell asleep for the one after it - but it seemed like one of those unimportant episodes to the overall series, which I'm finding a lot of season 1 actually is.
Seems like the best parts of the show are the current standalone "creepy" kind of episodes.

None of the big conspiracy stuff has started yet.

Lots of faces I recognise from other things and shows...Seth Green was in the second episode, I've seen a guy from Seinfeld, and a couple from Sons of Anarchy, and from what I understand about 5-6 people from Breaking Bad make appearances, including three of the core cast.

But yeah, from recollection, season 2-3 is where the show really picks up...so I will keep watching.

Monkey Astronaut 08-01-2015 07:30 PM

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp is hysterical and I can't remember the last time I've laughed this much. The casting is alone is superb and there are tons of great cameos.

Hah. Neat. Started rewatching too. Yes, the stand alone episodes are usually the best. My favorite is probably the one with Lily Tomlin and some other respected actor playing ghosts in a haunted house Skully and Mulder visit on Christmas Eve.

Yeah, I can't even consider that entertainment. It seems like too many tv shows have this similar problem ::roll eyes::

My recent viewing:

So You Think You Can Dance
Hannibal
Ray Donovan (10/10 - this show is freaakin awesome!!)

So happy that both of my Rokus are working again and that I can now watch Showtime through HuluPlus ::smile::

The Strain

Under the Dome -

I need to search because I swear I wasn't going to watch this show anymore. It's bad in a I can't believe how stupid yet funny it is kind of way. I won't watch it when it airs. I just check it out on demand and hope that doesn't help it. Because people shouldn't get paid for this kind of crap and I thought it would be cancelled last season. It's not the actors fault either. It's the writing and overall situation that's just stupid now. The Barbie character who was kind of cool originally is just all over the place now. If only to continue the conniving black woman trope which is funny at times.

The season opener is so generic it has to be seen to be believed. The Big Jim character makes it out intact. He's still interesting to watch. Also Rachelle Lefevre's character but half of that is just because she's hot and so far still plays a strong woman type.

Just started watching "Attack on Titan"...finally managed to track down a dubbed mp4 of series 1, after taking a quick look at the movie version that came out.
Looks like a pretty solid show, and I've been hearing a lot of people banging on about it, so there must be something to it all.

I've been working my way through the X-Files still, in anticipation of the new mini (and hopefully more), we're about 6 episodes into season 3.
I have to say, it's amazing how much of a leap forward this series took throughout season 2 and then into the 3-part episode that crossed into season 3.
All the ongoing storylines and characters are now full established, and it's quite an enjoyable watch.

...while I'm kind of dreading getting to those last few seasons I never saw (never watched to the point Mulder left), after reading what some people have to say about it majorly losing its way, but I'm invested enough to keep going.

I have very high hopes for the new mini.

Under the Dome -

It's just comedy now, both shockingly funny and bad. What they were doing in the last episode to a baby was so crazy. I'm not a doctor though. But I was just like what? Can you do that and should you show that on TV?

I watched one episode and couldn't take anymore. The book wasn't great, but that show is so awful.
