The uncut/unrated Escape 2000 also known as Turkey Shoot and Death Camp, Tatcher. It was a blast, I especially liked the hands being cut off and the really cool head explosion near the end. I liked the story too especially how that one hunter was a lesbian even though homosexuality was supposed to be a capitol crime.

That is quite a decent movie for a PG13 rating.

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Not bad, not as good as I was expecting but there were some great moments and I loved the set. Anyway, it was a lot better than Lost in Translation, that movie didn't do anything for me.

King Kong (Jackson)

I thought this movie was amazing ...

The dinos were incredible .. as were all the action and creature scenes on the island ..

the finale had me woozy ... i have a problem with heights ...
i almost couldnt watch some scenes..

you could see every penny Jackson put into this film..it was all worth it...

cheebacheeba 01-24-2006 04:40 AM

Cube.
Second time I've seen it, after about 5 years.
Pretty decent sci-fi type dealy...love the whole setting, score was pretty nicely done too.
Pretty good value, I got it brand new on dvd for $5AUD, which is really fuck-all.
Unsure about the sequal/prequel though, might just spoil the whole deal.

I agree. I know I've ranted and raved about this movie enough, but I really do think this was the best cinematic piece in years ann years. It paid SOOO much respect to the original.

Yah, they're not so good. One of them is alright, though, I think it's Cube: Zero.

i also liked how none of the characters were typical or predictable.
every time you had someone pegged, they suprised you ..

(like the Captain - i thought he was going to be a bad-ass)

Angra 01-24-2006 06:47 AM

I thought every action scene in King Kong 2005 was about 5 minutes too long.

i thought it was a great looking film ...
gilliam went a bit over the top trying to get as many fairy tale references in as he could (a la shrek)
some worked, some didnt..

i thought the crone holding the apple was a gorgeous live version of the witch in Snow White ..

hellfire1 01-24-2006 07:09 AM

that's just it. i thought all it did was look good. the rest didn't do it for me.

I think i would have liked it better if it was done by Tim Burton.´

I´m not a huge Gilliam fan.

ahh Tim Burton,

the genius behind Planet of the Apes, Big Fish ..and Willy Wonka.

i'd have to say that Gilliam has still retained his chops moreso than Burton these days.

(and i used to be a huge fan of Burton)

When i´m thinking Burton and fairytales, i´m thinking something in the line of "Sleepy Hollow".

I would have loooved to see "Brothers Grimm" made that way. And Depp starring it wouldn´t have made it worse.;)

The Truth About Demons, it was an ok B movie, nothing special really. It could've been great had it not been for the long boring moments between the good stuff.
