Picked up The Walking Dead Compendium 1. Haven't started it yet. About 3 inch thick book with issues 1-48 I think.

Preacher Volume 7: Salvation
Preacher Volume 8: All Hells a-coming Hands down my favourite comic book series of all time. I'm crying right now because I can't find the final volume. Makes Watchmen look like shit (Not really but I need to exaggerate, that's how much I love this friggin' book). |

Incognito: Bad Influences.
I've been picking up Fatale as it comes out and got hooked on Brubaker's noir style writing. Ended up getting both Incognito trades, and would even read his Captain America, despite not being a huge fan of super heroes. Also, Saga by Brian K Vaughan is superb. The first trade came out last week I think it was. Would recommend picking it up and getting caught up before the hiatus ends. |

Before Watchmen: Minute Men # 4 - One of the best of the Before Watchmen titles - adds some interesting backstory to the old characters.

Began reading Scott Snyder's Severed, Vol. 1, on someone's recommendation (Fortunato?). Off to a great, cinematic start. The only horror comics I am used to are EC so this is a nice change of pace.

I am about to finish American Vampire, Volume #1. 4-part series which deals with the origins of vampirism and evolution of a new kind of vampire species in America, as narrated by an actress and a writer. Written by Scott Snyder and Stephen King in two equal parts, I am finding it a gripping read so far. A different take on the vampire mythos. Recommended. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...e_Cover_-1.jpg |

I just finished a manga entitled No Longer Human. I don't know if you would call it "horror" but it does have some pretty horrific scenes in it.

Just read Powers: Vol. 14, 712

Getting ready to dive into The Walking Dead, Volume 17. Should be good reading and will keep me ready for the return of the tv show on Feb. 10th!

Saga, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples

A manga by the name of Shin Gendai Ryoukiden (Modern Stories of the Bizarre) by Uziga Waita. Its a collection of various stories, all of which contain extreme violence and sex. Highly recommended to anyone who can handle what most would consider "seriously fucked up shit".

American Vampire Vol. 3
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps8b427412.jpg I really need to get bookshelves so that I can finally unpack my books... I read this - and quite enjoyed it - but it's been a while since I've read the first two volumes that I think it's probably best to read them all in succession. I thought it was very very good, but I didn't connect with it as much as the earlier volumes, though I love how pulpy it was. ... Scarlet, Book 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...pse34e55dc.jpg Very very good. I need to stop finding comics with only one volume, though. Makes me want more. Wonder where Bendis considers this in terms of comic-writing priority. |
I don't have many horror graphic novels but something I'm reading right now is the hellraiser series. I've read Neonomicon by Alan Moore and Curssed. The Curssed wasn't so good in my opinion. 30 days of Night the X-files addition was pretty good. Any good horror graphic novels anyone can recommend. I love a good story. Anyone ever red the great and secret by Clive Barker. It was originally a book that got turned into a graphic novel ? Pretty good read I would so recommend it.

Wow, didn't actually know that there were this many horror comics. I though they died with the dracula, frankenstein and were wolf comics.
Great with new content :) |
Just got done with the latest issue of the ongoing series of Hawkeye (#11).
I didn't actually think I'd like this series, the art is pretty rough and the character has been largely hit and miss in his solo outings outside of Avengers stuff. However, there's some charm to it. I like that it's standalone and independent of his other avengers/marvel associations. Very street-level stuff, even moreso than say daredevil. Basically paints the character as a stuff-up/burn-out at this stage in his life, though there's something really down to earth about this series that I love...not much inner-monologue, not too much flashback/background or superhero type stuff, but enough is provided for new readers to jump on. To me, the comic doesn't even LOOK interesting and I find it difficult to put my finger on what I actually like about it, but it's entertaining. Just stories about a dude with an interesting past, getting by. This issue I just read impressed me with very little use of words...of course being aware of what's been going on in the comic helps explain things a little bit...but I'll just say the entire comic was presented in the perspective of a dog that the title character liberated early in the series. Shows the dogs thought process, associations and presents an interpretation of how the senses work. Nothing weird or scientific about it, but I thought it was very well done. Anyways, I'll just say it's one of the more solid Marvel titles out now. |
Started on my collection of the "Gambit" title that's just been sitting around unread.
I was actually pretty surprised it has a bit of staying power. Like the aforementioned "Hawkeye" title, it manages to stay clear of the characters team association quite well, and it's fine to read independently. Love it when you don't get a thousand crossover events. It's about well, thievery, backstabbing and misadventure...I mean it's not the best comic I've read all year, far from it - but it's entertaining, the character is true to form and a little more roguish as per his origins. Might be worth a read if you enjoy the character. |
The Next Testament by Clive Barker.
Marvel's 70's Frankenstein We've gotta get more folks in here, there are so many great horror comics!! |
Recently finished the second series of Dead@17, which is pretty good fun with some nice art and a half-decent plot.
Dead@17 Wiki Now starting on the Anita Blake series and waiting for The Walking Dead No.114. Anita Blake Wiki |
Any "Poison Elves" fans around?

I'd like to take this opportunity to pimp a friend of mine's comic, Ehmm Theory.
Horror comic about a guy and his talking cat fighting zombies. I know zombies are kinda played now, but it's really good. http://www.comicbookroundup.com/comi.../ehmm-theory/1 |
Currently reading some of the vintage Creepy comics as I've already read the newly released ones, gotta love how if they don't know how to end a story the good guys just come back as zombies.
|
Read, about half way through, a compilation of zombie tales called, Zombie Terrors. The artwork by a number of different artists, is pretty good. On the flip side, the writing of most of the stories is uninspired and just not very good. Can't recommend this one at all. Guess I will be trading it in at the local used book store.

I've been reading a lot of the DC "whatever point whatever" issues, for villains month or whatever they're calling it between the events of trinity war and forever evil.
Surprisingly some of these are pretty good. Still not digging the "new 52" stuff, aside from the still running GL and Batman series, though it's not all bad. Nothing has really stood out in my general comic reading though. About to read the latest issue in the Star Trek title, based around the new movie established universe. That's usually pretty solid. |
Revival -
I forgot to mention that I'm reading this one. I'm a few issues behind. I'm going to catch up soon. It's a good, dead come back to life story with some mysteries going on. Some of you guys here might like it. |
I've been collecting that one, but usually if it's not already something I have on my lineup I'll read issue 1 then start collecting, reading it when it's over.
Looks good though yeah - can't remember what it's about now at all, but it obviously left some kind of positive impression that I'd want to read it. |

Just had my monthly five-minute fix of TWD.
I've been quite enjoying Negan ... he's entertaining and comes out with some great lines but the whole thing is really getting a bit old now. A real sense of disappointment when I discovered that ... Hm can't find spoiler tags. Never mind. |
I'd say go and read some of the classics, like The Tomb of Dracula, brilliant series, Werewolf by Night is also very good. Modern horror comics, not quite as god in my opinion, Walking Dead is popular, but I find it hard to read as I don't like the art work that much. 30 Days of night had some good series, and I always like the quality the way the comic is made with IDW, some great painted covers too.

Death Note

I think I'm going to pick up Pretty Deadly #1. It looks like it might be a good horror comic.

You want some good horror in comics?
Check out "Blood and Shadows", I think it's about the best horror title I've ever read. I read through my regular bunch recently. No huge standouts. Though I also read through the last 5 issues of the current "Deadpool" run that I've been collecting, as it was a 5 part storyline called "the good the bad the ugly", I like to read those in a chunk. Captain America and Wolverine feature as well. All I can say is FINALLY...some actually dark, twisted, sad, and fucked up things are happening with this title - maybe the first time since the 90's series. I'm sure they won't, but I really hope Marvel continues along these lines. Reco'd. |
Read through "Avengers Arena" which is an 18-issue mini featuring some of the "younger" marvel characters introduced over the last decade.
Cast includes some New X-Men/Academy X, Avengers Academy, The Runaways and some newly introduced characters. It's basically about an old (predominately) x-men villain called Arcade who kidnaps the young heroes, who all awake in his most recent iteration of "murderworld" which is like...his thing...usually theme parks of death etc. Though he's had a bit of a power-up. Anyways, one thing leads to another and the name of the game is for the protagonists to survive the lethal environment AND kill each other. Yes. Similarities to Battle Royale. Really a lot better than I thought it would be though, I enjoyed it. |
Just had my TWD fix with issue 117.
I thought this "All Out War" volume was going to be a bit of a yawn but so far it's been pretty enjoyable. Latest issue kicks off with a wonderful classic line and rant from Negan which made me totally forgive Kirkman for dragging this plot out for so long. |
