Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets is better than TPS, for me.

Ehhh, that movie had okay parts, but did it ever get dumb in the end. I mean, if all he did was put that chip in her brain to revive her, how did she manage to become a robot under her skin? ;)

Yeh I was wondering that myself, I was thinkin' it was a dream sequence like the one with Kirsty Swanson stabin' her father. I liked how a thrown basketball managed to shatter Anne Ramsey's head too...... I loved that film total madness

That half man/half hammerhead shark thing sounds pretty cool!

Ehhh, I dunno.... if it was thrown hard enough, it wouldn't "splatter", but it sure as hell could crush the skull enough to toss chunks of blood, bone and brain matter. :D Think of what a tornado does to something flimsy like a piece of hay in a telephone pole. They should've done Ramsey's head "Bad Taste" style, with the lower jaw still attatched and spewin blood everywhere. :D

I went to the website Pajiba and from the reviews ,have decided to wait for video release.
Affairs aren't a very appealing thing to watch on the screen, and in this movie Clive Owen(whom I think is a great actor) is turned into the hero-which is kinda gross.(Cheater=hero? uhh-no)
Although I do think 'Unfaithful' was a very good movie, one of the exceptions.

Well, that's good enough for me, I guess I'll wait too. I like Clive Owen and I'm interested to see if Jennifer Aniston makes a good transfer cause I thought she was really good on Friends. Thanks sh.

And what does sh mean?
You calling me a shithead?
Better not or we're going to have a HDC fight...and it'll rival ALL the fights in here:D
btw:I thought Jennifer Aniston's performance in Office Space and The Good Girl was really great.

She's been in other movies but since Friends is over she's(trying at least) only doing movies that's why I said transfer. I figure she'll really be trying for a great preformance. About the big fight you've got planned, before you take a swing, sh means sweetheart. It's used other places I frequent on the net, I just thought it was a normal internet thing like ''lol''.

Unfortunately, I watched Hellraiser: Deader today. I was warned... but just didn't listen. So about the movie... well, I fell asleep while watching it. Kari Wuhrer was in it, so of course she got naked... Some other stuff happened, I think... This movie was very illogical. For example, why did Kari bribe the building super guy with American money, when she was from England? How the hell could that one guy turn a subway car into some decadent sex club? And most importantly, why in god's name did I feel the need to spend three bucks renting this? Final score: 3/10 (The score was okay, I guess.)

Anyway, my ill-conceived "watch every Hellraiser movie" scheme has come to a bitter end.

Batman Begins (again)

I already wrote up a little recap in here somewhere so I'll keep this one brief. I enjoyed this Batman film immensly. Christian Bale did a great job and the direction theat Christopher Nolan took to set up the back story of Bruce Wayne's parents, his fixation with bats, and his training was all very well done. Scarecrow has always been a relatively weak villain in my opinion, but I think they pulled the character off better than I would have expected. It was a bit disappointing that best Batman villain, The Joker, didn't make it into this film, but if you've seen it, you know he'll be in the next one so that's okay I guess. My only real objection to this movie is that they shoulda have gotten slightly older actors for the parts played by Katie Holmes (Who's going to buy a girl in her mid-20s as the assistant DA in a city that supposed to be the size of New York? Come on!) and the guy that played Scarecrow (Again, who's going to believe that a guy in his mid-20s is going to be the head doctor at an insane asylum in a city as big as Gotham? It's just not believable at all.) Also, Katie Holmes isn' a very good actress... "I'm a Gotham City district attorney. Let me pass." Ugh! That line couldn't have sounded more scrpited if she was reading it off a cue card!

Other than those few miscastings though, I thought it was an excellent film.

I'm still planning on doing that. I've seen the first three and I have the next 4 queued up on Netflix. I'm also planning on checking out all 5 Prophecys in succession. Oh yeah, and Jack Frost 1 & 2 also. (It's the holiday season you know...)

I guess you've got a point with Crane but Holmes grew up with Wayne and started dating him so they couldn't make her that old.

Onibaba
Who ever thought a movie that revolves around a meddlesome mother-in-law could turn out this way. Its story intertwined with japanese folklore. Its atmosphere is enhanced by the scenery of grass flowing in an incessant wind. All beautifully captured in stark black and white.

4 out of 5

Oh yeah, they were childhood friends, I forgot. Well, then they should have at least gotten someone that looked the same age as Bale... Say 30 instead of 23 maybe... I don't know, her presence and her job title was a nagging annoyance the entire film. A small one, but an annoyance nonetheless.

One thing they could've done is make her an intern. Everybody was just in their begining stages(Wayne was just becoming Batman, Gordon was still only a sgt. ect.) so I think it would've went well. Obviously an intern can't try a case but there's nothing that says they can't snoop around and help get the case started which is what she did.

Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III

Wow! It must have been 6 or 7 years sinced I watched this last and it was quite a bit better than I remembered it. The story was pretty cool. I liked how it all took place in the woods this time around and also how the focus was on Leatherface more. The gore wasn't quite up to par but there are still a few pretty ruthless scenes. I also never realized Viggo Mortenson was in this one (I probably did the first time I watched it, but back then, I didn't know who he was.) Also, Ken Foree played a pretty major role so that was cool too. I liked it better than TCM2.

13 Going On 30

Don't ask me why I watched this. I was laying down to go to sleep and I put it on for background noise (for our dog). I have to put on something that doesn't interest me otherwise I'll end up staying awake and watching it. Well, before I knew it, I had watched the whole movie. (If I had known I'd be up for another hour and half I woulda watched something much cooler. Trust me on that.)

Okay, enough defending myself for watching this, and on with the review... It was okay, at least better than I was expecting. And by the way, Jennifer Garner is HOT! The casting was good, the humor was standard for achick flick type of movie and the ending is entirely predictable and exactly what you'd expect.

C- It should be noted that a C- from me for a chick flick is pretty good. As far as girly movies go, this was one of the better ones I've seen I guess.

Despare 11-24-2005 01:15 PM

Izo. Another Tikishi Miike flick only this time he tries to make you think. Didn't work as well as I expect the director wanted it to and what is his obsession with sperm?? Anyway, lots of gore and some cool fights, not a bad movie but it wasn't cinimatic gold. The CG was better than Ichi's but the gore was turned down a bit. Watch it if for nothing else but to see where she hides her sword (if you've seen it you know what I mean).

What a crazy movie. Bits and pieces of Phantom of the Opera [obviously], Faust, Dorian Gray...really odd little flick. But it was certainly enjoyable:p Better than I expected.

The Changling. I really like ghost more than gore - I guess because I don't believe in ghosts, but do believe in homicidal maniacs.

I'm new on this forum and I'd like to get opinions about a movie that freaked me out in the 70's called Mansion of the Doomed. I can't tell which forum I would make this request. A new one?

The She-Beast

Pretty bad 60's B movie with Barbara Steele. This was just a whole new level of cheese for me. I love a good, cheesy B movie...but this was too much for me. Worth the $5 I spent for it though, I guess.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

This one is a classic and for good reason! I've seen it several times and it never gets old. The only downside to it is that the British humor falls flat for some people (My fiance just does not understand why I think this movie is so funny.) Anyways, great cast, good jokes and a humorously executed plot make this one a must see if you haven't seen it already.

Last night, I watched Bride of Frankenstein for the first time. What an incredible movie, not to mention better than the 1st, IMO. The hermit scene was so incredibly sad:(. After he learned to talk though, I didnt much care for the good ol' monster, just made him cheesy. But aside from that, great movie.

Meh, it was OK. Nothing special really, although it was easier to understand than the Japanese one. Not nearly as good though.
