Tsk, Tsk. That makes me sad. My friends & I loved it when it came out. My 14 year old cousin didn't care for it much either. Hope you liked it at least. |
Jamie Marks is Dead-2014.
Strange & fascinating, yet it could have been so much better. Particularly enjoyed the ghost of Francis though. |

I think Cameron Monaghan was great in this movie, the only other thing I've seen him in is Vampire Academy. I like Morgan Saylor, she's talented & she's got a unique look about her. |

I'm a longtime fan of Tim Burton's work. Thought a remake of Sleepy Hallow was right up his alley. Although I liked the look of the film, I didn't love the film. I SAW it at the theatre, way back when. As I recall, I didn't think it had heart -- I wasn't drawn to the characters or story. What summed up how I felt about the film was when Walken bit the woman... I was just like... "Why? Sure, why not, Burton isn't feeling this film, guess it doesn't have to make any sense". But maybe I ate a bad Junior Mint or something, I'll see if I get a different take after all these years. |

It looked good, cast did a good job, gore looked great, kid zombies were a nice change,... With a solid script this could've been a small classic. |

"Iron Sky" (2012)
Plot: IMDB In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. During 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis construct a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers. Phantom's Review: This has got to be one of the most ridiculous movies ever made, yet it's surprisingly entertaining.. some good acting, decent FX ,plenty of humor and some sexy girls. It's a real "Leave Your Brain At The Door' movie, but it's plenty of fun. |

Digging Up the Marrow 2015 A horror movie film maker receives some information from a man who claims to know there are real monsters and where they are. Its shot in documentary film style. The main character Adam Green is played by...Adam Green. I'm assuming he's not playing himself, if he is he's a fair sized asshole. But I believe its acting and done well. The opening of the film is talking to various people at a horror con(s?) about why they like monsters. I think this takes away from the film. The feel of the segment doesn't match up with the rest of the film. The acting is decent, again Adam Green doing a very good job of bring an unpleasant person. Ray Wise is also very good as the person who brings the story to Adam Green. Mostly the film is entertaining, but I found myself wanting the film to stop focusing on Adam Green's reactions to everything. While his character is played well, its too much of someone you're not meant to like. I do not want to say much because the premise is a man wants to prove there are monsters and anything I might say could indicate if it ends up being true, a hoax, a little of each, etc. Its worth at least one watch, I'd recommend it. $3.99 at www.vudu.com. 6/10 |
Deathgasm (2015)
Fuckin' A! ![]() Good casting & acting, fun references, great blood & gore (mix of practical and CGI I think), original kills, bit of nudity, good jokes,... And ofcourse heavy metal! If you don't know much about metal music, some of the jokes will be lost on you. But if you can enjoy bloody horror comedies in general, I'm sure this can entertain you too. Btw, the movie's from New Zealand. So that's another good one from down under. And apparently this is the debut for the guy who wrote and directed this. I'm certainly looking forward to his future work. |
Exeter, 2015. 6.5/10
![]() Exeter was pretty entertaining. Brutal, yes merciless. lol It took place in a filthy disgusting asylum with a bunch of drug using dirty kids, it was gorgeous. I mean some were splattered with brain matter and still walked around drinking and getting high. Fuck. Bits of CGI dusted this film but it didn't matter. I'm going 6.5. Wanna go 7 but some inane dialog and scenes. Best exorcism by internet ever. ![]() |

C+ 6/10 Took chronogrls recommendation. Fun little creature film. Nice production value. An Evil Dead 2 tone - funny tongue-in-cheek seriousness. I would have liked it to dig deeper into the personal interaction between the men and the alien, as it plots a revenge motive without diving into the anything substantially emotionally personal. As a result one gets the impression the film is holding back and staying shallow. There's really no torture, no revenge and no catharsis. |
Room 33 2009
A van carrying a female roller derby team runs out of gas right in front of an abandoned asylum. In the asylum, one of them is attacked by an almost feral young woman. Bodies with the eyes removed start piling up while they try to figure what has happened to the girl. The ending pretty much sucked. 4/10 |
Dead Alive-1992.

VHS and VHS2
I prefer the second, although 1 has some solid moments. Safe Haven reminds me of a dream I once had and is kinda pants-shitting |
Para Elisa, 2015.
![]() IMDb;Para Elisa is a terrifying story based on a simple, innocent children's game. Something that looks naive and harmless turns into the worst nightmare, into the struggle to escape a tragic and expected end, into an explicit and inevitable horror. I don't know what children's game they are talking about?!?! ![]() Very brutal and sick storyline but they really didn't take it anywhere. I really wanted to accentuate on the insanity that consumed this family. It ended abruptly. It is available to rent on Amazon Prime. |
Goldeneye.
I really used to like James Bond...and while the last one with Brosnan felt like it lost direction a little bit...these movies were just fun. The Daniel Craig movies, to me? They're just not James Bond movies. They are movies with a guy called James Bond in them, and in their own right they're ok films...just...not what I want. I wonder if maybe one day there'll be something more like a fusion of the two. |

GoldenEye is one of my favorite Bond flicks. Yeah...TND & TWINE were fun & watchable but DAD was one of the terrible 007 films ever, IMO. About Craig films....I really love Casino Royale, though it was a great comeback for Bond in contemporary / modern era & really a fantastic addition for a change than any other usual bond flicks. Loved its gritty, less action but more serious approach in terms of an espionage thriller. But yeah...QOS not only comes with a weird title but totally a misfire as a Bond flick. And as for your 'fusion of the two'...I thought SKYFALL kind of falls in that category. Really looking forward to see SPECTRE as soon as it hits the theater here. |
