Ahh, Oh Holy Night is by far my favorite Christmas song/Hymn. Sung by the right vocalist, it can practically slay me. I heard a version by Josh Groban that was stunning. I mean, it just was such an emotional charge to listen to. I've not heard any other songs sung by him, but he does a magnificent job with Oh Holy Night.

It's called YouTube. 8I
lol but seriously, I've actually tried making my own MTV playlist, but I got bored and frustrated trying to find actual music videos.

Also that's an awesome gif.

Oh wow, we must have similar tastes in music. I have Def Leppard's first 5 albums at home. Also nice, you got Hold the Line, Carry On, Pop Music, etc, tons of these were singalong favs of mine. ::love::

Ya, but what did you do with the last dollar I gave you?!

Ha, cool ad. Looks very familiar to me.

My dad may be a pain in the ass at times, but he raised me right when it comes to tastes in music. He recorded like 10 MTV tapes from the 80s I think(?) and my sister and I would watch the shit of them. ::big grin::

But thanks! Means a lot coming from you that you approve, my friend. 8)

So many thoughts in my head...all of them random.
It's too damn cold outside.
I'm kinda feeling the Christmas spirit.
My dog is getting old.
I wish I still lived in a more secluded area. Moving this spring wasn't a great idea.
I need some new music.
I'm really happy that I got some Christmas shopping done yesterday.

Bloof 12-11-2016 06:50 AM

I read something pretty cool the other day. At the Admundsen-Scott South Pole Scientific Station, at the beginning of what they call "winter overs" the remaining staff (approx 45-50) watch back to back: The Thing from another World, The Thing and then The Thing (2011).

Looking at your "Best Albums per Decade" listings, I'd say we have similar tastes in music. Some of these aren't new, but might be new to you: Jack White - Blunderbuss (2012) is a good album. Great sound and very talented band musicians. Here's a cut you might particularly like "Weep Themselves to Sleep".

This is an impressive album from 2007, beatlesque, very slick studio production, lot's of variation.

What type you in the mood for?

Check the wiki pages of your favorite bands.
Often they list their main influences. Might find some "new" old music that way.

Or go to www.last.fm and search for a band you like. There you'll be able to click "similar artists".
You'll get a list of bands that sound similar, bands from the same scene, bands that share members,...

While researching, open Youtube in another window and you can listen to new stuff while looking for more.

Love the Blunderbuss song, Sculpt! I've heard a bit of this band but never this tune. Thank you.
Not really digging the other tune but I searched a few other songs by them and I like!

Oh yeah, Baron, I have found a ton of stuff by checking the related stuff on Youtube. It's so handy.

Why is food not banned from the library... Do people have any idea how much it sucks to study for a final when you're hungry but can't afford to buy anything in the cafeteria and their food is just taunting you with how delicious it smells...

Oh, they know... they know real well... they'll get what's coming to them. Librarians have their address. And they are very hungry people.

Lol! I've never heard that before either, but I'm sure Funkazoid has heard them all.

Why don't you give us the context of when she said it... where were you? she said what, you said what, and then she said Lick the turtlepuss.

Were you both watching her turtle farm?

Well I googled it and while I couldn't find that exact phrase, a lot of it seemed to be related to something sexual. But I guess everyone pretty well figured that out.

I believe Sculpt's assessment is factually correct. Both good songs but No Parking was a club anthem and a wicked groove.

Random thought. Fuckers running around in T shirts and complaining about the temperature are fuckers. Fucking fuckers is what they are. ::shocked::
