Game of Thrones

Holy smokes.

The Villain 05-28-2012 07:10 AM

The Killing.

Still just as boring but i'm gonna tough it out for the last three episodes. The previews have been saying that they'll reveal the killer so if anyone who tried watching this show but gave up wants to know who it is, i'll post it with a spoiler warning.

cheebacheeba 05-29-2012 01:37 AM

Continuum, Episode 1.
This was actually a fair bit better than I thought it would be.
About a cop type chick from the future getting dragged back through time with a terrorist cell set for execution, having to track them down before they put their plans into effect.
Cool effects and tech, and the premise was handled effectively.

I mean, it's sci-fi, so who knows how long it'll last...but I'll be watching the next episode. Interesting enough.

This show needs to go off the air fast. The last episode was a joke. I think they pulled this crap last season too with a complete filler episode after something big occurred. I can't remember because the show really sucks for the most part. But it's good a dragging things out and hooking people like me who want to know the answer. If they will ever reveal it.

That's exactly what i was thinking when i watched it. They did that episode the first season where they were looking for Jack.

Last show i watched was Twin Peaks.

Having heard some things about the show and knowing David Lynch's style i was expecting something a lot weirder but it was kind of boring. The characters were eccentric especially Agent Cooper (His arrival was when the episode got better for me) but the acting is terrible and every single person is overacting like crazy. It's really hard to watch. I'm gonna keep watching it though.

Great show.

Sadly, the creator was fired after the third season, so who knows how good it'll be from now on?

Yeah, it was a good episode. The Daenerys storyline was pretty flat the whole season, but oh well. Plenty to explore next time. The finale was pretty anticlimactic on almost all fronts
except, of course, the white walker rebellion or whatever
, but that didn't bother me. There's enough established conflict going on in all those storylines to imply some serious cliffhangers. Amazing season, though. Overall, they really upped it from season one. Gonna suck waiting nine months for it to return.

Watched Veep, too. I'm loving this show. Fans of Arrested Development especially should really check it out.

Honestly it's the only show that i could get super excited watching even if they just had conversations all the time. It's just that good. I loved the ending. That was a great way for it to end.

The Killing

Can't believe i'm about to say this, but it was actually a good episode and the way it ended was well done. I've gained some interest again to find out who the killer is. Probably not gonna turn in next season though as i don't know if i want to put myself through the whole mess again but maybe if it ends really well then i might. Still i'm not going to put it all on the strength of this one episode.

Yep, they certainly earned it. I can't even imagine what's going to happen with the power struggles next season.

Me either. I almost want to read the books to find out but i also want to watch the show without having read them so i'm gonna try and be patient.

Yeah, I was considering the same thing. But I think I'm going to hold off, too. I really like the surprise of watching it, and plus I have a million other things to read as it is.

Freak 06-06-2012 09:01 PM

Trying to catch up on the last few seasons of Dexter.

Pretty awesome cop show. Treads on some cliches, but is ultimately way darker and way more bizarre than any other of its kind. Addicting, and definitely worth the watch.

Here's my huge problems with it.

1. It's a haunted house movie but it contains zero atmosphere. They're going for gore instead. Fucking ameicans..

2. All the ghosts looks exactly like living people and new ones keeps turning up each episode, no questions asked from the home owners, like "how the hell did you get into my house?" would be a fairly reasonable question. It's a big house but i don't see there's room for another season of ghosts.

3. Got tired of all the new faces/ghosts each episode instead of focusing on the the few from the pilot. They were interesting enough and deserved more screen time for their charaters to develope. But the obvious concept to add new ghosts to the story each episode just makes it dumber and dumber. Like i started out saying, only seen 4 episodes and i'm already tired of it.

What i did like was the very end of the pilot. A teaser to have the viewer believe there will actually be evil looking ghosts in the future episodes. My ass!

And then of course there's Jessica Lange. Steels the show in every scene she's in. Fuck the ghosts i just wanna see HER teorrising the family.

I have spokeeeen!!

I have also only seen like 3 or 4 episodes of American Horror Story. Mostly because the story just seemed all over the place. I have been told by various people that it picks up a bit, so i will likely give it a second chance, but the first few episodes were brutal to watch.

Yeah the first five were great. They had a storyline arc that encompassed the entire 5 seasons that finished after season 5 which was Eric Kripke's vision of the show which is why he stepped down as showrunner afterwards. That's why it's gotten stupid because they don't have that grand vision for the show anymore. Honestly these last two seasons have just tarnished the others.

Supernatural was perfect for the first 5 seasons. The show is really sad now. It's shocking that the people in charge still have jobs. I won't watch next season. There's no point anymore. I stuck with two bad seasons for no reason. No way the show will get back to the greatness of the first 5 seasons.

Nice. The show, for the most part, holds up great. Some episodes still just bowl me over.

The Walking Dead-Impossible not to LOL at Andrew Lincoln (not his real name) from Teachers attempting to do an american? accent. He will always be remembered for the scene in Teachers when he shares the spliff with his policewoman girlfriend.

The Killing

And the killer is.......

SPOILERS
Terri, Rosie's Aunt.

Here's how it went down:
In the beginning of the episode Jamie reveals to Richmond that Rosie had witnessed a conversation between himself, Ames, and Nicole (The owner of the Wapi Casino) at the casino about plans to plant indian bones at the waterfront to disrupt Adam's plan for the mayoral race so that Richmond could become Mayor, Ames could build a business for his own and Nicole could get a casino on the waterfront or something like that, i wasn't very interested in this storyline.

As they were leaving, Jamie heard Rosie's cell phone ring, found her and after a struggle Rosie was knocked out and thought dead. Jamie then brought her out to the forest to get rid of the body when she woke up and ran off. Jamie chased her and once again knocked her out thinking she was dead.

At this point, you think the killer is Jamie and Linden and Holder show up to arrest him, he pulls a gun on them and Holder shoots and kills him. When Liden and Holder go to the Larsen residence to inform them that they got the killer, they see Terri's car with a broken taillight which they knew was involved in the killing. (I honestly had forgotten about this information since they threw so many different things at you, it was hard to keep straight. Definitely a bad point of making the mystery go on so long)

They confront her and she reveals that after Jamie had knocked out Rosie, he called Ames who was with Terri at the time. The two of them showed up and Ames and Jamie started arguing. Ames told Jamie that he didn't want to go through with it and that he wasn't going to leave with Terri anymore due to the new development. Not wanting to lose her boyfriend and her new life, Terri pushed the car with Rosie in the trunk into the river not knowing that Rosie was inside nor that she was still alive. She reveals this with Mitch and Stan listening and Stan tries to attack her. They pull him off and arrest her.

END OF SPOILERS

I have to say that i was very surprised and pleased with the reveal and the episode as a whole. They spent a lot of time wrapping things up and providing great closure and the final scene was extremely touching. The whole thing was so well done that i've decided that i'm actually going to check out the next season.

I think if they keep it to one murder a season and eliminate the filler episodes like them looking for Jack in season 1 and Linden in the Psych Ward in this season and they can actually keep the show compelling and interesting. I'm very surprised that they were actually able to turn it around and make me invested again. A great season finale.

I'm currently really liking Bedlam Season 2. :)

I hadn't seen "Sliders" since it was originally on TV. I saw it on sale a few weeks ago and picked up the first 4 Seasons on DVD. I just finished re-watching the 1st Season.

I forgot how much I enjoyed this show...

You know if the show didn't take that break and lost the filler episodes it would be a very strong show. People who missed it will be better off watching the complete DVD. As that's the way it should be seen. The reveal was very tragic. Especially the scene with Rosie's voice when she's going in the water. It's a show about people who are not perfect trying to solve a murder. Of course, all the suspects are liars and not perfect either and it's extraordinarily difficult to get to the truth. They were actually lucky to get it in the end. I was pleased with the ending and if there is another season I will watch it once the whole thing is over on DVD.

School Spirits.

Don't bother with this absolute mess of a "real" ghost story. A complete waste of time. Told with real people and actors portraying them, this show is horrible. There is a bi-racial girl who might as well be White as she ignores Eddie Murphy's rule of when a ghost says "get out" African Americans are supposed to say "too bad we can't stay." Not only that but when the girl's Mother arrives at the house, the first thing she does is take her Mother downstairs in the haunted house. Of course, none of the girls actually tell one another about seeing ghosts. Who does that? If the average person sees a ghost, alien, or UFO, I would think they would tell the first person they see.
