watched the season finale of Shameless.....good show. Louise Fletcher should get an Emmy for this one.

First, I really need to watch Justified.

Newb, you're going to love the season 2 premiere. It really does some great set-up.

It sure is cheers for the heads up man! It was buried on late night TV over here and it slipped me by. Started on the 3rd season last night. Still entertaining as hell!

cheebacheeba 04-05-2012 07:34 PM

I watched a show produced by and starring Steven Segal called "True Justice" pilot episode.
The only other familiar face was a guy that was in a pretty shithouse Heroes rip-off called Alphas that failed in almost every way...

However, I didn't actually mind this show - coming from Seagal I actually watched it just to see how laughably terrible it was, though I thought that among the slew of forever-releasing cop shows, it was actually an alright watch.
The cast isn't anything stellar, but in cop shows that's usually a given.

I might check out episode 2, if she show doesn't get canned by then.

Elvis_Christ 04-05-2012 10:38 PM

Watched a few episodes of that show last year. Didn't really get into it enough to bother with more.

Season finale? Good, that'll give me some time to catch up with the show.

Awake - Episode 6 (The one just before the latest).
I think this show has really found it's groove over the last couple of episodes and while it started strong it faltered for an episode or two...but now, there's some really interesting things going on, and things are starting to collide a bit.
I enjoy watching it, can't wait to see how it turns out.

Also watched the first 2 episodes of "Ultimate Spider-Man".
It IS very kid friendly, but the Ultimate universe has always been a great modern day spin on the Marvel universe, and is more or less what the last few movies have been working with anyways - so I will watch in the hopes it's not yet another spider-man show that gets canned before it's time (Spectacular, the cool digital MTV one).
It's a fun show, I like it enough to grab a few more episodes.

Also watched the first "Alcatraz" episode...not bad...though from what I've read it's unlikely to get a season 2 and ended with something of a cliffhanger.
Kind've makes me want to wait it out until I bother watching any more.
Does anyone have any more info on a potential season 2 or cancellation?

Watched the pilot episode of Derek, a few nights back. A new comedy/ drama from Ricky Gervais about a guy with learning difficulties who works in a rest home. Thought it was quality. I'd say its more drama than comedy but its well worth a watch if you enjoy Gervais' style. I'd say this is closer to The Office than anything he has done since.... not a cheesy celebrity apperance in sight.

the dead walking great series !!

AnaWE 04-22-2012 07:30 AM

I'm watching a few shows at the moment:

Endgame: A reimagining of sorts of Nero Wolfe. Very very good.

Breakout Kings: Convicts helping Marshalls catch escaped prisoners. Pretty good. Funny with lots of action.

Relic Hunter: Tia Carrere as a female!Indiana Jones. A good series even if some of the action scenes are bad.

Masters Of Horror: Nuff' said! It's awesome!!!

cheebacheeba 04-22-2012 07:39 PM

Awake.
This one kind've felt like a filler episode...like it was watchable and an alright story but the overall storyline didn't progress much.

Haha, this last episode was pretty crazy. Especially the ending

The Villain 04-25-2012 05:34 PM

Just watched Missing. It's an okay show but i don't buy Ashley Judd as a CIA Operative

Elvis_Christ 04-25-2012 05:49 PM

Game of Thrones was the last show I watched. Great ending as fortunato mentioned and the show is picking up the pace which is good.

Also watched the pilot of Derek which I thought was brilliant. Sucks the show has been getting so much shit I hope it goes ahead because it's Gervais' best work thus far IMO.

Fallen behind with Awake... might get back to it at some stage.

cheebacheeba 04-29-2012 03:28 AM

Awake can be hit and miss, the last one I saw wasn't an especially strong episode, though it tends to have minor slumps between great episodes.

I've started watching "American Horror Story".
It's not bad actually...I've seen a lot of hate for this show.
It's unusual. Slightly reminiscent of things like American Gothic (misses...) and various Stephen King works...so I guess that could be the issue for some people, finding that it's a bit too derivative or something.
I've watched three episodes thus far, pretty brutal content when you consider it's coming from the same guys that do "Glee".
The overall storyline, meh.
The past storyline and "history of the house" elements are pretty cool though.
Nice music.

Betty Whites "Off their Rockers".
This is a hidden cam style show that features senior citizens pulling pranks and trying to weird out younger people.
It's pretty easy to sit through, and while I'm not sure why she's in such high demand again over the last couple of years, but Betty is pretty enjoyable to watch. The pranks are "ok" with more of the verbal ones hitting the mark than the physical. Can't help but think it feels a tad staged.
Hm, it's ok "sit back and get stupid" viewing.

Seen 4 episodes and that'll probably be it.

Here's my huge problems with it.

1. It's a haunted house movie but it contains zero atmosphere. They're going for gore instead. Fucking ameicans..

2. All the ghosts looks exactly like living people and new ones keeps turning up each episode, no questions asked from the home owners, like "how the hell did you get into my house?" would be a fairly reasonable question. It's a big house but i don't see there's room for another season of ghosts.

3. Got tired of all the new faces/ghosts each episode instead of focusing on the the few from the pilot. They were interesting enough and deserved more screen time for their charaters to develope. But the obvious concept to add new ghosts to the story each episode just makes it dumber and dumber. Like i started out saying, only seen 4 episodes and i'm already tired of it.

What i did like was the very end of the pilot. A teaser to have the viewer believe there will actually be evil looking ghosts in the future episodes. My ass!

And then of course there's Jessica Lange. Steels the show in every scene she's in. Fuck the ghosts i just wanna see HER teorrising the family.

I have spokeeeen!!

Supernatural.

I love this show but it really should've ended after season 5. It's really starting to go downhill.

The show almost completely sucks now. I think they know it too. It's pretty sad because it was one of the best shows on TV. The first five seasons are perfect. I'll probably get those separately one day.

Storage Hunters

Unlike Storage Wars this got no likable characters other than the auctioneer. But watching this dude getting into a fight in every other episode is good entertainment. :D

Quite enlightening.

A lot like Storage Hunters in many ways. Tv that shows the true everyday americans. :D

I'm entertained.
