2000
two weaker years. Never been a big fan of Baby Jane nor Cape Fear... Carnival of Souls is a standout, not much else. At least 2000 you get a wide array of decent horror films The Cell, Battle Royale, American Psycho, Ginger Snaps, Pitch Black and Final Destination... decent year. |

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (My all time favorite movie, for anyone keeping track) and Black Christmas would be tough to beat alone but add Phantom of the Paradise and you've got three movies that would be hard to top for any year, and culty gems like It's Alive and the Kolchak series...and THEN we get to Young Frankenstein?!

But Long Live The New Flesh anyway. |
84. It was only one episode of Tales from the Darkside, but one of my favorite werewolf adaptations was in that show. Also can't out cool Vincent Price's laugh in Thriller.

1954, for Creature.

1976
|
1976, in another very difficult contest.
|
Kong vs Gojira!
Carrie, Omen, Kong76 & Burnt Offerings were huge at the time, but most aren't quite as impressive for all-time. Gojira, Creature & Them resonate a little louder to me. Also a treat for everyone The Naked Jungle starring Charlton Heston, a romance with 2-mile-wide, 20-mile-long column of army ants. 1954 |
