The Harvest (2013)
Meh...
Slow drama. Too slow for me. Was about halfway through when I fast forwarded to the end.

Skin Trade (2014)
Wasn't really bad but there was something wrong about it.

FryeDwight 04-27-2015 07:56 AM

THE STONED AGE (1994). Kind of leans in a WAYNE'S WORLD/DAZED AND CONFUSED condition with a lot of annoying characters, but enough quirky moments to make it worthwhile. Great soundtrack and LOTS of Blue Oyster Cult songs, references, footage and even a genuinely funny appearance by Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom. ***

Gears-of-Warren 04-27-2015 03:26 PM

Today i watched nu 1 about girl on holiday in France and stumble into evil witch cult that make girl do bad things to good people with strange effect on whole town environment. This 1 have dreamlike scenes and many twists of logic and story. I confused some but like whole any way.

Baron Von Marlon 04-27-2015 05:28 PM

Pure Luck (1991)
Danny Glover and Martin Short in a nice 90's comedy.
Hershel from The Walking Dead had a small part as some criminal.

I watched it one time and I agree with your rating. It was enough to keep me interested, yet I felt sad quite a bit.

I really liked this movie; it was a "feel good" kind of film.

Strange Blood (2015)
I kinda liked the concept but the execution was cheap and crappy.
The main characters annoyed me too.

Frank (2014)
Bit weird but ok. Not great, just ok.

SUCK (2009). Really like this vampire rock band film. Good tunes, lots of in jokes and funny turns by Malcolm McDowell, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, Moby and Alex Lifeson.
Also Jessica Pare ::love::as a uber-hot bass player. ****

Insidious

Decent. 6.5/10. It could have gotten a higher rating from me, but a few glaring plot holes, Poltergeist rip off, and needlessly bizarre ghost equipment. The ghosts were decent, but like a lot of horror these days they could have used them a lot more. Like its now a rule of horror to show you a bit of the monster, but briefly and in too fast to focus on images. I did enjoy it, just not as much as I could have if it had been done better Oh and there's one part of the film that brings this video to mind:

Now that you mentioned it. We did.
Was watching it with a buddy but we were talking all the time because it was so bad. Towards the end we said fuck it and turned it off.

I was pleasantly surprised by that one too. I didn't think it would be good, but it turned out to be entertaining. I wish there were more rock and roll horror films. Seems like the two go hand in hand.

If HDC ever did another group-driven ranked list, "Best Rock n Roll Horror Films" would be fun to do, and a relatively small project, since there aren't that many.

Saw 'Scream' yesterday, working on 'Scream 2' now. I keep forgetting about these, but I found them on Netflix so I'm finally knocking them off my list.

I've actually never seen any of the Scream sequels. I have no clue why though lol

Roiffalo 04-30-2015 04:38 PM

^ I usually like to try and give them a shot. If they start getting too god awful then I give up. Much like Jaws after the second movie. I knew going in that 3D would be bad but I wanted to watch it for the 'lulz'. I read the summaries for the rest of the sequels and wasn't impressed so I never tried watching them. As for Scream though. The second actually wasn't so bad. Disappointed at a character death, but I think the characters developed nicely since the first.

Yeah, story line is overused, but I liked it.

Lame, boring, not enough action, and so on.

Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)

No, this isn't a joke. I actually watched this, and it was actually pretty good. It ended on a cliffhanger, so I guess I have to see the sequel now. At least I heard it's supposed to be "more of a thriller".

Escape From New York (1981)
Another John Carpenter movie with Kurt Russell so you know it's good.

Escape From L.A. (1996)
Even with the outdated special effects, it's awesome in many ways.

The Drownsman (2014)
Starts out ok but it becomes more dumb and cliché as it goes along.
But it did give me a sweet idea for another movie: The Burning Man.
Instead of just water, he's made of gasoline.
