Couldn't agree more! But for some reason people prefer cake because it's traditional for celebrations. ::big grin::

*sigh* yep, traditional gagging amount of frosting on sweet cake...

Hey, we should throw a pie in the shower party! Although there's not much space in a shower. Should we just make it a date?

Don't delete posts.

Going on vaca! Can't friggin' wait. Going to a friend's birthday party and staying in town for a few days. And just to think we'll be doing it all over again in a few months for MonsterCon! Can't wait for that either! ::smile::

Spammers, by all means, delete them all.

I'm reffering to your actions in the "Rip 2016" and "Post a pic" threads. Deleting posts made by regular members.

I'm sure you guys (and the mods before) mean well by deleting posts remotely dramatic to keep a healthy and happy community, but in reality I believe you're slowly killing the very thing you're trying to protect.

As this site's last 11 years has shown me, the more rules and censorship you add to it, the less activity you'll get.

Love, hate, friendship, conversations, arguments and fighting is all a part of life. Removing half of these because they are "inconvenient" doesn't leave a normal life, does it? It leaves us North Korea. The last thing I would want this place to become.

Or let me put it this way. Take a horror movie. Then take away anything horror related, controversial and negative, leaving only friendly dialogue. You no longer have a very exciting movie, you have an episode of Full House, but not even that. Take away the arguments and controversies of those episodes and what you have left is people sitting on a couch telling how much they love each other, accompanied by piano music. Sounds like a smash hit, right? Would YOU want to see that show?

If you say something hurtful to others in real life you can't take it back. It's out there. Then it's up to you to either apologize or move on. And if it was up to me, the same should be the case with HDC. No deleting. No pretending it never took place.

Any questions?

Actually yes. Like I said, people should take responsibility for their own actions, just like out there in the real world.

But, If certain member wants to get his/her post deleted, I'd say fair enough. He/she should just keep his/her fingers away from posts made by other members, unless they're ok with it.

So to keep it easy and simple I'd say yea... don't do shit about it.

I did send the person who posted it a PM, telling them I had a complaint. They were cool with me deleting it.

I hear ya, but let's also not pretend that we don't lose members & activity with an "anything goes" approach. We need a wise balance.

I quote our famous "It Stops Now" sticky, "We have lost enough good members, now it's time to lose the bad ones." (I'm not saying we have bad members to lose. I'm noting forums die from shit too.)

Unfortunately some people get-off on incessantly insulting/trolling/fighting & being excessively obscene with impunity. The majority doesn't want that here. They want to discuss horror and have a fun time with mutually-respecting friends/acquaintances.

Some things are pretty obvious, somethings we just let people speak up about it. I think we'll get the right balance.

I personally believe we've lost more members with the "It Stops Now" approach.

Telling other people how to act and what to say is just off-putting to most.

I will refer to another quote:

I think the Asshat thread in the New members Lounge is more than enough. If anything a guideline for the mods would be more helpful. Let people be who they are, and if some can't handle that kind of free will & speech, ban their asses.

And that's why the mods have the ability to warn and ban members who keeps making trouble. I don't see any need to delete any signs of their existence on the forums, which has been the case several times before.

What you find friendly and fun I might find dull and monotonous. I like a heated debate in here, it shows passion and difference in opinions. But that isn't allowed anymore as these kinds of debates gets deleted everytime, thanks to the It-Stops-Now rulebook.

I'm pretty sure that's been said many times since 2008, and I gotta say... I don't see a big difference. We've just gotten used to being this few active members by now.

I quit my job a week after I got it. There was this thing going on there called Women's Intuition Riding. I wasn't anywhere near the women I was just cleaning up there horses sh**. Then these women went behind my back an told my boss that my presence there at the ranch offended them. These were man hating women, literally! So my boss comes to my house hands me a 100$ check for my work and tells me that I should only come on Fridays when no one is around. Then she said I can't really afford you, which is stupid because she owns like 3 ranches 1 ice cream bar. I was like what the hell? I busted my butt for 3 weeks cleaning out three paddocks that had manure that had dried out and caked onto the ground.
I guess it got like that because these man hating women run off every male worker that tries to work over there.

I still get the last laugh. There going to have to clean up after their own horses now. Heh heh heh heh....

I'm still mad. ::mad::

Well that isn't fair or right at all. Those women sound like such bitter, pitiful creatures. I don't understand their mindset. I adore men. ::love:: Ha. That sounds questionable but ya know what I mean. Don't ever let negative people or their actions get to you, or you're going to be miserable for the rest of your life. It's cliche but true. Be off to bigger & better things now.

Hmm... I'm sorry that was unpleasant for you. It wasn't you, it was surely only because you were a man. And cause you're really creepy, sending penetrating vibes of death and destruction!

It's probably because Women's Intuition Riding gives the impression there are no men in site. It's her mistake to hire men, or creepy people. ::stick out tongue::

Women’s Intuitive Riding at Blue Skies of MapleView

Remember your childhood joy of riding across a field of waving green grass on the back of your trusty horse or pony? Want to experience horses for the first time? Has it been thirty years since you threw a leg over a horse but the time to get back is now? Want to do something just for yourself after years of caring for the family or working hard on your career?

Twice a year in August and February, Deborah Pearson-Moyers and the horses of Blue Skies offer the Women’s Intuitive Riding course. One morning per week (9:15-11:30) for approximately 12 weeks we meet in groups of five women only and explore our unique relationship to these “dolphins of the land”. We learn on-the-ground skills, natural horsemanship, ride bareback, trail ride, whatever your dream is (within the bounds of safety for you and the horses). The first session is for you to set personal goals and then Deborah designs the course to help you meet your goals. This course began in 2003 and each group has been wonderfully different just as are all the women who enroll.
