White Noise ..

again .. ok .. not great ... the closing shot was pretty stupid.

IDrinkYourBlood 08-14-2005 07:44 AM

needed to get some sleep so i put on Evil Dead and lulled away to sleepy town right around the part where ash's sister gets tree raped.

alkytrio666 08-14-2005 07:49 AM

Army of Darkness.

jenna26 08-14-2005 11:16 AM

Darkness. I was just bored, I just couldn't get into this movie no matter how hard I tried. Is it really this boring or was it my mood?

I watched it in what I consider almost perfect conditions for horror movie watching [Alone in a dark trailer with a can of coke while it was raining] and I was still bored to tears. terrible movie...

RoLLiNLiGhTs 08-14-2005 02:47 PM

watched Man On Fire again....I think it's still a great movie...

The_Return 08-14-2005 02:55 PM

The Tomb of Ligeia

I love all the Poe-Price-Corman flicks Ive seen, and this is by no means an exception! Alot of it had a different feel than the other's, however it was still great and atmospheric. Price was incredible as always, delivering some truly chilling lines. I absolutly loved it.

AUSTIN316426808 08-14-2005 05:45 PM

Saw Stealth again earlier today, a friend wanted to go see it and didn't want to go by herself so I went along. I actually enjoyed it a little this time, although if it weren't for Jessica Biel I probably woulda fell asleep in the first 45 minutes.

Okay, thank you. What a waste.

Anyway, finally watched Romper Stomper. At first I thought I wasn't going to like it because it focused so much on the violence and so little on the characters. But that changed a little into it and I was impressed by Crowe's performance. It is a good film, very dark and more than a little depressing. These guys would have been really dangerous had they a brain to share between them. :D

You say that as if you weren't expecting it, don't like him much?(strictly talking about on film not including his personal life)

Well, no I always expect him to be good, I am a fan of his. But for some reason, I was a little surprised, I think because it didn't hit me how good the movie itself was at first. Like I said, I wasn't really taken in by the first few minutes....it had to grow on me.

alkytrio666 08-14-2005 09:03 PM

American Psycho...again...and again...

The_Return 08-15-2005 05:28 AM

Frenzy

Not really my style, but it was still pretty good. And one of the best closing lines in history.

urgeok 08-15-2005 06:33 AM

The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.

Extremely depressing film - well acted .. just a downer.
I with there was more concentration on the films he made but fair enough - it was about him - not his films.
Unfortunately - a film about Peter Sellers the man, isnt a very nice story.

Batteries Not Included

hadnt seen this one since i was much younger ... i remember being dissapointed because of the limited Sci-Fi element.

i enjoyed it a lot more this time because there was a lot more to the story than just flying robots ..that i can appreciate a lot more at my age now

I loved it. i thought it was so intruiging and I couldn't believe how such an awesome and funny actor could have such a depressing life. Talk about opposite lives between his characters and him.

most comedians have tragic private lives ,,, thus their constant search for adulation ...

Yah, I liked that bit he said about he can play every role except himself. Did you like Geoffory Rush's performance? I thought it was really, really good.

Angra 08-15-2005 10:34 AM

"Ghost lake" 2/10

Sucked pretty badly.

"The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer"

I found it every bit as depressing. It is a good film and Rush did an outstanding job. But it bothered me having to face how shitty this man could be...lol....I'm sorry, if this is anywhere close to being true, he was. I have such respect for his career, such admiration for the man. And this went to place I didn't really want to have to see. But I guess I am glad I watched it. I know you are right, Urge, most comedians have this dark side to their personality and this constant need for validation. Sad.:(

this is why i keep off screen seperate from on screen. I have no interest in the personal lives of these people ... although i do like autobiographies for the sole purpose of some insite to how the movies were made that they were involved in.

The Peter Sellers movie had very little to do with his actual movies - so i was a little dissapointed at that - while realizing that this was never the intended focus of the film ..

he was a great actor - but a pathetic man - if as you say - even a small portion of what we saw is true ..

zwoti 08-15-2005 04:00 PM

Angra 08-15-2005 04:10 PM

"Dirty dancing 2"

Aawwwww.... 3/10

"Pusher 2" 8/10

Almost as good as the first, but felt it ended a little too sudden. Should have been 10-15 minutes longer.

Race With the Devil
Just got the Anchor Bay DVD, not a great movie or anything, but it is pretty damn cool.

The_Return 08-15-2005 06:15 PM

The Skeleton Key

I find that when I go into a movie expecting the worst, Im usually pleasently surprised. Not to say this is a great movie, but alot better than expected. Meaning it was half decent. Predictable in some parts, but I actually didnt expect the ending [Well, part of it at least]. It wasnt great by any means, but I could think of worse ways to kill an evening.

zomb5150 08-15-2005 09:11 PM

I just watched Deep Red by Dario Argento, pretty good.
