That's wat I thought! I might rent it 2morrow now that I think of it.

Anyway, the last movie I seen was The Bogus Witch Project. It sucked all kinds of ass. I'm giving it a half star out of 5. A few laughs here and there and Pauly Shore (who saved the flick) were the two reasons I didn't bomb the flick.

I didn't like the script, I never understand how they mess up these movies the entire story is sitting there you only have to add a couple ounces of creativity. They know what he did, where he went, who his friends were, the battles he fought ect. ect. all you have to do is look at a history book yet they still screwed it up. It was never confirmed that he was gay yet there's a scene where he says "I've fallen in love with men"(or something close to that). All they had to do was stick to history and it would've been ok but no they had to add and take stuff away to make it better and all they ended up doing was screw it up.

Laugh if you must, but today I went and saw March of the Penguins, which was actually an extraordinary film. I really enjoyed it, and thought Morgan Freeman made a helluva' narrator.

I'm just kiddin'! I definitley have to see it now because I know Freeman's the narrator. Freeman = Success! Oh, and add penguins to the mix = CLASSIC!

It is very good. Worth a $7 ticket, definately.

I just watched Tod Browning's Freaks.

Wow. What a bizzarre movie.

I hated that movie. I waited the whole time, was patient, thinking "it's slow now, but the ending will be great."

Well the ending was a bunch of computer animated horse shit. The effects used on the chick looked like the same ones used in Spiderman.

Anyway, I thought it sucked balls.

2) The Crazies .. after all these years i finally saw it ..

i liked it ... great casting and frantically paced ..

One of my favorite horror movies. I love that movie. Very few movies have disturbed me more.

Lat movie watched was The Hitcher. I always forget how fucking creepy Rutger Hauer is in that one.

ChEEbA 08-05-2005 08:27 PM

Not a movie, but I've been making my way through the first season of "smallville" on dvd, I just bought season 1 & 2.
Good show, decent soundtrack, nice effects...and interesting villains, even if it IS just "kryptonite freak of the week" time and again. This is probably the best thing in tv/movies that they've done on the whole superman mythology.
I like it.

42ndStreetFreak 08-06-2005 06:33 AM

A mixed bag indeed....

Finished off Season 2 of "Starsky and Hutch".

Vintage, Blaxsploitation/Martial Arts trash in the topless form of "T.N.T. Jackson" - Fun, but some bad, bad fights!

The ever excellent "Ginger Snaps".

alkytrio666 08-06-2005 08:26 AM

Batman Begins.

What an incredible movie. The best movie of the year without a doubt. Kicked the shit out of Land of the Dead, which was a movie I couldn't wait for. Batman I almost didn't even see.

10/10, definately.

bloodrayne 08-06-2005 10:05 AM

Dracula's Curse......

alkytrio666 08-06-2005 10:08 AM

Bubba Ho-Tep.

Funny but really weird. Bruce is the man, though.

Long Time Dead...Not as bad as I thought it was going to be

The St. Francisville Experiment...It's like the Blair Witch Project (4 people making a documentary/investigative film) except with ghosts in a haunted mansion instead of a witch in the woods...Too stupid and horrible for words

Inhabited...Not really sure about this one...I fell asleep after about 30 minutes...

urgeok 08-06-2005 07:31 PM

Sky High ...

first let me explain : i told my kid we'd take him to see Fantastic 4 ... so i check the listings : not recommended for young children.

shit - what else is playing (i made him a promise)

see this movie Sky High is playing - i know nothing about it 'cept Kurt Russell is in it and he's a faforite actor. Rated G.

Best movie I've seen in ages .. funny as hell .. great lines, earnest performances and the best soundtrack of the year (in my opinion) - its mostly 80's music redone.

I'm sure 2/3 of the people here will hate it (no tits, no one dies or swears) but i thought it was a gas .. a really pleasant suprise..

Well I might, 'cause I just watched Driving Miss Daisy and loved it. Guess I'm a softy for a good warm movie every once in awhile.

It seems "Stealth" is getting almost universally bad reviews! I've not read a good thing yet.

42ndStreetFreak 08-07-2005 04:58 AM

A Roger Corman stinker from the 60's, the tedious Sci-Fi slop called "THE LAST WOMAN ON EARTH"

After a long build-up of nothingness the Earth loses it's oxygen for a while and everyone suffocates except 3 boring people (2 men and 1 woman, hence the title) who were scuba diving at the time.

ONE good scene of a child's body, lying like she's asleep with her arm over her face, on the roadside which is rather creepy, otherwise it's one long arguement about the obvious moral and social problems the situation raises and a dull lust triangle sub-plot for the remaining 50 minutes or so.
Written by future "Chinatown" scribe Robert Towne of all people.
*SNOOZE*.

I was thinking of taking my 2 rugrats to see this. I thought it may be a little too juvenile for me so I was going to bring a pillow.

But I feel you to be a good judge of films so.....

To stay on topic, a Canadian gem, My Bloody Valentine was on IFC last nite. I enjoyed. Havent seen it since my teens.
