A million times, you say? Well then, you have watched it exactly 3 more times than I have!!::big grin:: I know I'll never get tired of Repo.

Cool, thanks for the rec, and I will do just as you say the first chance I get. Any excuse to watch it again works for me!

Its also a legit excuse to go out and buy a expensive beautiful TV.

New VHS haul today. Nothing too exciting except a Hitchcock tape and Sleepy Hollow. Also found King's Rose Red, which I never even heard of... but looks interesting. I swear I used to be better at finding movies at Goodwill. At least the price drop made the trip worthwhile.

I mean... So I have been looking into this whole flat earth thing... Has anybody else seen this. I try hard to be open minded, but people really believe this. I apologize if any of my family here is offended by this... But for reals.

Lol! Please tell me your not a "flat farther".

Repo'd 01-27-2016 03:20 PM

Ha!! Nah, the Earth is definitely not flat. If it were, it would be a lot easier to walk when I'm drunk.

Oh yea, I saw the flat map about ten years ago. It's genius! Very cool. I wouldn't have conceived of how it works till I saw it myself. It's a must-see for any intellectual.

Jake.Ashworth 01-28-2016 04:09 AM

The flat map is fine, if that's whattheywant to believe. But it's everything else. The sun is only 32 miles wide, and 3000 miles above the earth. That means Australia is further from me than the sun. Gravity doesn't exist... Instead we are all either held to the ground by magnetism that doesn't only effect metal or, and this is my favorite, the flat earth is moving up so fast through space that when you drop something it's actually the earth catching up to it instead of it falling.

Jake.Ashworth 01-28-2016 04:11 AM

Also in the flat earth model the sun would never set, just go low on the horizon and then work it's way around the horizon to come up the other side.

Haha I subscribed to them a few months ago. It's ridiculous and stupid but so much so that it's funny.

You both know she's acting, right? She's good at the "just tell the truth" acting technique. She made me laugh a couple times too.

I did not know that. Takes away all the fun.

I hate when actors talk to the camera/audience in movies. Like they want to make it clear that, hey, you're watching a movie right now!

Sooo annoying.

Loooots.

Just tried to watch the Eastwood flick "Jersey Boys" which was a weird mix of gangster drama and singing. Stopped wactching halfway through due to continued dialogue towards the audience. It's just so.... SMART ASS!!! ::mad::::mad::

It doesn't irritate me that much. You'd hate The Walk then.

Heh... Actually that didn't bother me that much. Probably because the movie was pretty good and the ending was awsome.::cool::

Angra 01-29-2016 11:52 AM

I could swear I just noticed Bryan Cranston as an extra in "That Thing You Do". 112.23 minutes in.

Funny.

Wow.. He even got to say one word. He wasn't an extra afterall.

These two posts has been waste. ::big grin::

Lots of stuff, like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Wayne's World, High Fidelity, off the top of my head.

horcrux2007 01-29-2016 05:00 PM

I'm hoping Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is good. I'm not a huge zombie fan, but it's getting pretty good word of mouth.

The book is literally Pride and Prejudice with some zombies thrown in. Jane Austen is even credited as co-author. From what I've heard, the movie is the same way, but the advertising is misleading.

If it's straight up Pride and Prejudice with some zombies thrown in, and it's not a comedy... who'd want to see 2 hours of that? That doesnt sound appealing to me. I mean, if you've already seen/read P&P, why would want to see it again with zombies? Seems the best qualities of both simply strangle each other out.

Roiffalo 01-29-2016 10:04 PM

Ugh would you put "Bag of Bones" under last seen contemporary or tv series? Netflix has it set up like series, but it plays like "It", I'm guessing it's a mini series but isn't it technically a movie?

I smell a new kind of franchise coming.

Gone With The Wind and Vampires
The Great Gatsby and Werewolves
Wuthering Heights and Aliens

And so on.

I don't like it.

You had me at Gone with the Wind & Vampires. ::big grin::

I want to see this movie though. I could never get into Pride & Prejudice, maybe zombies will help.

It's from the same guy that wrote Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.
