DANGEROUS CARGO (1977). By the numbers actioneer of a ship transporting Nitroglycerine/Guns. A Replacement Bosun is working undercover for a Terrorist group to use the cargo for nefarious ends. Watching this, it seems the crew spends the majority of their time brawling, dancing and gambling-how do they ever get anything done? Main interest would be one of Deborah Shelton's (TV'S DALLAS and DePalma's BODY DOUBLE) very first films where She is the "Captain's Wife"-indeed, No names for anyone here-who has to use all the weapons at her disposal when things turn south. LOTS of nudity here and Deborah (or "Debbie-Miss USA") was obviously used for Window Dressing, which if You are a Fan makes this worth a watch. You can also marvel how long her hair was at this time. **

Blood Rage is an example of 80s slashers at their worst. Wooden acting, lousy FX,... But the soundtrack was oddly intriguing, so I have to give the makers credit for that.

THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING (1975). Very good John Huston film ( originally intended for Humphrey Bogart/Clark Gable, than Burt Lancaster/Kirk Douglas and even Robert Redford/Paul Newman) has Sean Connery and Michael Caine as less than Honorable Soldiers in Colonial India who realize after their service, it's back to England with Dead End Jobs and Second Class Citizenship. They decide to travel into Afghanistan and set themselves up as rulers. By pure chance, Connory survives a Spear and is hailed as a God by the Natives. Things seem to be going swimmingly until their cover is compromised and then it gets scary. ****

LAS VEGAS LADY (1975). Not so good Heist movie of three Women working at a Casino and deciding to put the Screws to an Asshole Supervisor by ripping him off. Plays like a late 70's Detective show and lots pf footage of Vegas to fill in the spots. Good cast, though, with Stuart Whitman (NIGHT OF THE LEPUS, CRAZY MAMA), George DiCenzo ( DARK SHADOWS producer, HELTER SKELTER, BACK TO THE FUTURE), Lynne Moody (WHITE DOG, SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM, NIGHTMARE IN BADHAM COUNTY) Jesse White (The MAYTAG commercials) and an early appearance by Andrew Stevens (THE FURY).
The star of LVL is Stella Stevens, which is obviously the reason I watched it. Like a lot of her work and once again, She is better than the film deserves and also a real looker::love::! ** |

I just recently caught a few more Italian giallo horror films on Tubi TV! Umberto Lenzi's "A Quiet Place To Kill," Mario Bava's "Baron Blood," and another one called "The Black Belly Of The Tarantula" may not be the best of the sub-genre, but they are all still overall good, unique, original, and interesting films with a lot of great action, suspense, and thrills, along with good twists and turns! There is even a good amount of humorous dialogue in each of those films as well! Those who like the Italian giallo horror films should enjoy those as well! ::cool::

TWINS OF EVIL (1971)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SPOLIERS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Later period Hammer that has aged much better than many of them. After THE VAMPIRE LOVERS AND LUST FOR A VAMPIRE had come and gone, the writers looked through the October 1970 PLAYBOY and discovered the Playmate for that month was Identical twins Mary and Madeline Collinson , which got the idea going for the title. Peter Cushing is so frightening in here as the Leader of Religious Fanatics who "cleanse: the area of "Witches" (normally those that live alone and are attractive) by burning them at the Stake; more scary than Vampires because that sort of thing really happened. Arrival of two Nieces just gets his paranoia going and even more so when the more rebellious of the two sneaks out to carouse with a Decadent nobleman who can't be touched because of Political connections. Damian Thomas (the Nobleman and according to an IMDB poster looks a lot like Jimmy Fallon) has been Vampirized , passes on the curse to Madeline and the carnage begins. Pretty rousing climax here. Also nice seeing Isobel Black in here-remembered her from KISS OF THE VAMPIRE. One funny scene involves our Hero who is about the only person who can tell the twins apart and is in love with Mary, the more virtuous girl. Oddly enough, when Madeline is kissing him and undoes her gown, He is clueless until there's no reflection and He's being attacked . *** |
had to give salems lot a rewatch i also had to watch it in parts i like it, but some parts just drag on too long, whats interesting about the master vampire in this is that its bloodsucking fangs are his two front teeth, maybe someone should have smashed him in the teeth with a hammer, would definitely stop the biting, except those claws are big too haha

Pleasantly surprised by Death Ship. The idea of the haunted Nazi ship was executed fairly well, the shower scene and subsequent kill were intense and possessed George Kennedy is pretty cool, too.
