So many obscured movies on this list that I have never even heard of. T_T

VAMPIRE CIRCUS (1972). Lots of praise for this late Hammer offering, but I found it extremely tedious throughout despite decent nudity, lots of blood, huge fangs and an off the charts Body count. Some good moments, to be sure, but lowering budgets over the years took their toll. **

the reason why
The reason you didn't notice the guy's expression in Fright Night is because there is nothing to notice. The guy doesn't emote at all.
I kind of wish that my local cable provider would include in the pay-per-view movies the original sequel to Fright Night, the one where the villainess is supposed to be the sister of the vampire in the first vampire. She's my type. "The great strength of the vampire is that people will not believe in him." Edward van Sloan as Van Helsing in Dracula. I am quoting from memory; I know I probably didn't get it right. |
Vampire Circus
In a little-known horror film magazine of the 1970s called Castle of Frankenstein, there was an amusing review of Vampire Circus. Let me see what I can remember...
"The vampire in this movie, Emil, has all the grace and poise of a rock-n-roll speed-freak drop-out. He has various powers, can change into a tiger, wolf, etc., but can't change his clothes." |
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie-1974.
One of the best zombie flicks I've seen in awhile. ::love:: |

I haven't exactly watched this lately but I was just remembering how much I liked the original Pumpkinhead (I hope I didn't list it already).
It was a really dark movie and the special effects for the monster were amazing. I also liked the evil old witch who brought the monster to life after bargaining with the guy who wanted revenge for his son's death, and basically ended up selling his soul to Hell in the process. I wonder where the movie was set? It kind of reminded me of the mountains up in North Georgia but I'm not sure. I know I definitely detected a southern accent in the characters. |

THE WRAITH 1986

#21 with the Ymir on the cover. There were a plethora other Hammers being reviewed as well like TWINS OF EVIL, HANDS OF THE RIPPER, COUNTESS DRACULA etc |
Children shouldn't play with dead things
This is a little movie from the 1970s. I saw it on tv. Mentioning zombies always makes me think of it.
As I remember, they went for humor in most of the movie, but the ending was pretty scary. |

BASKET CASE rocks!!!!!
THE UNSEEN (1980)OK little flick that has quite a seedy aspect to it, but it is Danny Steinman directing. Kind of neat to see two Rock wives (sisters in the film) walking together, Barbara Bach (Ringo Starr) and Karen Lamm (Bobby Lamm of Chicago and Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys-twice. **1/2 |

Trilogy of Terror (1975) - Karen Black stars in three short films, each comes with a twist. Definitely worth watching, preferably in the dark!

The Horror of Flashdance (1983)
6/10 The characters are rather lifeless, shallow, dull, caricatures, and not played very well, if it were even possible (to play them well). The plot is an 18-year-old welder and parttime exotic dancer who pines to get into the Pittsburgh Conservatory of Dance and Repertory. She apparently has no family either. The adorable Jennifer Beals plays the lead, where she always wears a warm smile, and she can certainly dance. The kick of Flashdance are the music and dance performances, most of which are done quite well. As music videos they're nifty. There's some fine songs in the film, and on the soundtrack, including Maniac (a personal fav) and What A Feeling. Many of the other songs are performed with plenty of lively gusto, vocals and instrumentation, fairly innovative in many respects including "Manhunt", "He's a Dream" and "Romeo"; with "Imagination" performed by Laura Brannigan probably being the most successful musically. The soundtrack sold very well, more than 20 million copies worldwide. And despite deservedly poor reviews, the film did well at the boxoffice. |
CURSE 2 : THE BITE 1989
A carefree couple take a shortcut through the desert where the man is bitten by a snake. No ordinary snake and no ordinary snakebite. Good 80's schlock. |
BLOOD BEACH 1981
People start mysteriously disappearing at a popular beach site. Slow-paced but not without its charms. Enjoyed it. |
THE KINDRED 1989
Science experiments gone bad in an old lady's house. |
