Yeah, Dylan McDermot. Lol. He doesn't have a huge role. The kid was excellent above all else. I love the story. I was honestly surprised when I stumbled across it in my Netflix, I hadn't heard of it and it had decent actors and a cool story line.

Cub, 2014. 7/10

Thumb resize.

Pretty good film, kinda knew what would happen but still enjoyable. I liked the killing. : )

Damn Heathen 03-03-2015 10:09 PM

Dracula Untold -- 5/10; Some things are better left unsaid. Fortunately, it did have some visual flair here and there.

Baron Von Marlon 03-03-2015 11:42 PM

Cub (2014)
Not bad but didn't really care for it.

Toy Story 2 (1999)
Still ok to watch but it has aged a bit.

Toy Story 3 (2010)
Same as the above.

The Hobbit 2 - Extended Cut (2013)
About 3 hours long but it was alright. Didn't really bore me or anything.
Haven't seen the regular cut so I can't compare.

The Hobbit 3 (2014)
Too long and not enough variation. Got boring fast.

Damn Heathen 03-04-2015 12:43 AM

Spanking the Monkey -- 6/10; Great to see Bryan Cranston in his pre-Malcom days.

Chicken Chokers -- 1.5/10; The mise-en-scène here left something to be desired.

Amalthea_unicorn 03-04-2015 04:51 AM

8/10

Damn Heathen 03-04-2015 06:29 AM

Wolves -- 6.5/10; With dialogue like "Getting shot in the shoulder is like getting kicked in the jimmy, but it's your shoulder", it's hard to take these fashion-forward werewolves seriously. Nevertheless, the direction is quite good, and the action sequences are far above those of the typical horror film.

I was very sceptical about this Indie horror but I am happy to be proved wrong. This is a nice pretty unique* teen horror that doesn't cater to the lowest common denominator.

I will check it out!!

Not a bad film, really like the back story to the Clown, nice gore.

I hate clowns but you have me curious about this one....

Don't know what to think about this one, I hear so many mixed reviews on it. I guess I just need to rent it.

IMDB description:

"Over-imaginative 12 year-old Sam heads off to the woods to summer scout camp with his pack convinced he will encounter a monster...and he does."

Wanna see a group of boyscouts getting wacked? Yea, this is it.

A good slasher from Belgium.

I think I want to check this one out!

I would like to see both movies, they looked better than the ratings that you gave them.

Hated Under the Skin, I only lasted 20 minutes into the movie. I'll skip the porn.

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein -- 6/10; Competently directed, but De Niro is grossly miscast.

I'm sorry, I don't know the foreign title of that one. It does have a Brazilian director, through.

The Last Exorcism. 4/10. It was a decent 6/10 until about the last 1/6 of the film. They could have cut that off and it would have been a much better flic. The ending was bad, especially the last few seconds. I'd say pass.

The Pyramid (2014)
Crap.

They said it wasn't gonna be a found footage movie. But it is.
Not in the literal meaning, but in general.
Almost everything is from the angle of a character's camera.
The scenes that aren't, are filmed a bit shaky to fit in with those that are.
It would've been more enjoyable if everything was like a regular movie.
But it wouldn't have mattered with a lame script like this.

I really liked that one too. Had a hard time trying to understand the message of the movie but JK Simmons was great.

Really didn't like this one. Seemed generic and didn't live up to the original at all. Novel idea for a remake though, wished they had utilized it better.

The back story was what i liked most about his movie. They created a nice mythology for the Clown.

Husk -- 7/10; A novel approach to the haunted field conceit. I do wish the action scenes had been shot cleaner.

Clown (2014)
Better than I expected and I hate clowns.
Wouldn't mind a sequel.

Top Five (2014)
Only saw this because of Chris Rock but it wasn't really worth it.
When the movie's done it says "co-produced by Jay-Z and Kanye West".
If I knew that I wouldn't have watched it.
