I only saw one scene from Q, The Winged Serpent. It looked like the run-of-the-mill monster flick. It reminded me a little bit of the original Clash of the Titans. |

The Incredible Melting Man
Very goopy and excellent FX work by Rick Baker. The cast includes Cheryl Smith and Janus Blythe, which adds to the watchability. |

PHANTASM (1979). While I don't think it's as good as some people make it out to be, it has, if nothing else, a lot of cool plot twists and certainly is not dull. Wouldn't mind me a couple of the flying spheres (Great effect) for some people and the "Lady in Lavender" was choice! ***1/2

SHOCK WAVES (1976). Low budget hampers this a bit, but still a darn good little flick and the monsters in here are pretty eerie. Decent perfs by Brooke Adams, Peter Cushing, John Carradine and Luke Halpin (TV's FLIPPER-!!) ***1/2

WILLARD (1971). "The One Movie You Must Not See Alone!" was heard on lots of TV/Radio ads after it's release and finally talked my Dad in taking my ten year old self to see it a few months later. Not really a good impression at the time, but it's aged well and Bruce Davison is quite good in the title role.
SPOILERS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Still really love the "TEAR HIM UP!!!!!!!" scene...have had a few supervisors I would have happy to do that to. The book it is based on RATMAN'S NOTEBOOKS isn't bad, even if it takes place in England (Los Angeles in the film) and the 2003 remake with Crispin Glover is OK too. Also a little trivia, the secretary Ernest Borgnine is getting fresh with ("I was just doing the old Broad a Favor!") and discovers Socrates in the work storeroom (Not crazy about rats, but can't watch this scene) was "Stella" in 1946's HOUSE OF HORRORS as the model who gets done in by Rondo Hatton ("Stop Screamin!")! *** |

APRIL FOOL'S DAY 1986
You know I had to. Surprisingly well done ...had the 80's cheese and fluff but worth watching. A group of friends spend the April fools weekend together on a remote-ish island. |
The Incredible Melting Man (1977)
Great makeup effects by Rick Baker and a halfway decent score, otherwise pretty bad::embarrassment:: |

The 131-minute, composite/extended version of:
Basically mixes the scenes from all 4 Cuts - original Theatrical, Director's, Restored Director's & Hybrid - and makes it one, long, complete film. I just had to see it. |

Saw BEN with my brother in 1973, but not since then. Guess it's time to put it on NETFLIX. |
THE OMEN 1976). This has still held up rather well and really a good film. Skip the 2006 remake. ****

THE BROOD 1979
A psychotherapist's rather unconventional methods prove to have rather far reaching effects on the family of one of his patients. Chilling with a touch of Hugh Hefner grooviness. |
Quote:
Unconventional methods indeed! The Brood is a baffling viewing experience. The proceedings are Often not easy to watch but it's all so chilling and effective. Cronenberg does it again! ::big grin:: |

SQUIRM 1975
A terrible movie about worms attacking in the millions after a worm farm is electrified during a storm. There was, however, a couple of good jump scares. |

I am a monstrously big fan of Squirm. |

I'll never forget the real mouths on the worms...
