The remastered version of Phantasm on the big screen? A Q&A with cast and crew on a live remote from the Alamo Draft House? A remarkable special preview of Phantasm:Ravager? An Unforgettable night at the theater.

Oh Bloof, you have to check it out. The remastered version is beautiful and the night out was terrific. There are supposed to be similar events when Ravager opens next month, so keep an eye open for that.

Preparing for the Westworld show coming on HBO

"WESTWORLD" [1973]

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070909/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

Holds up pretty good....except for Richard Benjamin's porn mustache and the control room with the refrigerator sized computers.

Top of the line at the time!

I'm looking forward to Westworld, always loved the film.

I may need to check out the less memorable Futureworld again

HALLOWEEN III SEASON OF THE WITCH 1982

A man discovers a small town factory is selling halloween masks with an ancient history behind them.

I love the scenes of the kids trick or treating on halloween night. Far fetched to be sure, but I've always enjoyed this one.

One of the best ghost stories put on film. It always seems new to me because I can't remember the underlying story until it reveals itself as I watch. I've seen this film a dozen times. I think my mind blocks it so its like 'new' each time I watch it.

Ooh! The first ghost movie that ever really scared me. There are images and sounds in that film that still raise the hairs on my arms. It's a fabulous tale with stellar performances from all the actors and actresses.

A must watch every Halloween season for moi.

The Changeling is one of my favorites as well. Just goes to show what can be done with a talented cast and writers instead of trying to fix a bad script with CGI.

Blood Orgy of the She-Devils - The title is the best part. 3/10

Well i was kinda glad when the Franklin guy died because he was super annoying. Also i feel it got real weird once she was taken back to the house, but it was good and i liked it. I have seen the remake. i also liked it.

HENRY:PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER (1989). Hard hitting still and nerve wracking as well. Michael and Tom are really good in here and proof that quality can be done on a small budget. ****1/2

Yes, the house grandpa scene is horrifying. And it's interesting that they make Franklin so annoying.

You should consider watching "Room 237". It's a good documentary explaining The Shining. Not merely because it explains The Shining, but because it's a good documentary. It has 93% fresh at Rottentomatoes.com.

It also helps set your thoughts to find symbolism in film, which is very cool.

There's things in The Shining you never knew you saw (I'd bet).

It doesn't make The Shining a better film, it just explains it, and also cranks you up to notice things in film.

I do believe some of the things are just the doc maker's opinion, but I found the doc more interesting than the film.

Here's a clip of it, explaining the bigwheel ride. I did not notice these things in the film.

I saw it in the theatre... not what I was expecting.

Yes i do, and it's cool you got to see it at the theater. That would have been awesome.

RollinFan 10-07-2016 10:30 PM

Futureworld (1976) You hear a lot about what a classic Westworld was, but not a lot about Futureworld. Now I remember why. What a terrible movie. Now I want to see Beyond Westworld, the 1980 TV series, but the reviews are not good. Cancelled after 5 episodes. I watched Sexworld back in the day, no need to see that again.

Unhinged

Said by many to be the worst Canadien film ever made. I offer no evidence to the contrary, but it's the kind of crap that entertains me fully. It really is poop but it's laugh out loud funny and bad at the same time. Naturally, it's the movies earnestness that makes it so watchable. I applaud the sincere effort made by cast and crew. It may be hilariously bad but they tried so hard. Hats off to the movie makers for the effort, no matter the quality.
